You’ve heard him on the big stages. This is where it all started. Dominic Lalli, known to millions as the saxophone force behind Big Gigantic, returns to the foundation of his sound with the Bluebird Quintet. Before the festivals and electronic sets, Lalli built his voice in New York, studying with legends like Bob Mintzer, Dave Liebman, and Kenny Barron. This performance brings that side of his artistry forward. Live. Acoustic. Unfiltered. Backed by an all-star band, this group brings together some of the most respected and in-demand musicians in the scene today. Featuring: @endsleyshane — trumpet @_peterjohnstoltzmanmusic_ -piano @hunterstevenr — bass @obedcalvaire — drums Individually, they’ve worked across jazz, touring acts, and major stages. Together, they form a unit built for interplay, improvisation, and energy in the room. Music from his Bluebird Quintet project, including selections from A Blind Man’s Blue, showcases a different kind of intensity, built on improvisation, tone, and deep musical interplay. This is not a DJ set. Not a crossover moment. This is the source. A sound that pulls from jazz, funk, and hip-hop, delivered through one of the most recognizable saxophone voices in modern music. “. . . a warm mix of lyricism, harmonic density, solid time, and the blues.” — All About Jazz Whether you’ve followed his rise in electronic music or you’re here for the musicianship, this is a rare chance to hear the full scope of what he does. If you know @biggigantic this is the side you haven’t seen live. Sunday, April 12 5:00 PM & 7:30 PM @dazzle_denver Denver, Colorado Live as part of the @denjazzfest

Today is a great day to cancel a corporate subscription, message a company, call your representative, get out and protest, whatever we can do. Our house is dropping Amazon and Apple TV today and I’ll be out at the Denver protests. See ya there?

Full Sail live at Dazzle January 12th at 7:00PM Tickets available at dazzledenver.com Musical Style: Jazz, Folk Denver-based duo Leena Waite (violin) & Adam Waite (piano), join multi-instrumentalist/Denver native Shane Endsley and Ike Sturm (bass), on a new project, Full SAIL. Their music featuring mostly originals, is best described as a “musical conversation” - a free-flowing, improvised, artistic expression of friendship, hope, sorrow, joy and love. Leena Waite is a violinist in Opera Colorado and subs with the Colorado Symphony & Colorado Ballet. She co-leads a group ReSound (vox-strings) with Kali Paguirigan. Adam Waite is the Minister of Music at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church. The Good, The Bad & The Devine live at Dazzle January 3rd at 6:00PM & 8:30PM Tickets available at dazzldenver.com Musical Style: Spaghetti Western Music The Good, the Bad & the Devine: Dave Devine & Friends Play Ennio Morricone's Spaghetti Western Film Scores Denver guitarist Dave Devine brings Ennio Morricone’s scores to “A Fistful of Dollars / For a Few Dollars More / The Good, the Bad & the Ugly / Once Upon a Time in the West” to Dazzle. Coinciding with the conclusion of the National Western Stock Show, these performances of the Golden Globe-winning composer’s unforgettable “spaghetti western” music have become an annual tradition in Denver since 2012. Bringing Morricone’s complex scores to life with a small chamber ensemble is a challenge Devine embraces, having transcribed and arranged many of the pieces himself. In addition to Dave on guitars the ensemble is rounded out by Tania Katz, Patrick Lee, Shane Endsley, Tom Hagerman, Jeanie Schroder & Shawn King. Perceptive music fans may recognize these musicians from their work with acclaimed bands such as The Czars, Kneebody & DeVotchKa among others.
