IXILONGO LIKHALILE iCAMAGU LIVUMILE I've been blessed with another opportunity to exhibit my work in collaboration with the good people of @ndifunaukwazict . This is an opportunity to deepen and expand the discussion surrounding spatial inequality and uplift local artists and communities. The ULJG Art Exhibition “Our Land” is co-curated by Aphiwe Ngalo, Chloë Cairo Swartz, and Mikhailia Petersen. “Our Land” explores the nuances of South African land and community. The exhibition explores the themes of national identity, history, and cultural heritage in the context of urban land justice. It invites the audience to reconsider their connection to land and its broader implications on personal, cultural, and environmental levels. MAKWANDE.

“ISITIFIKETI” Isitifiketi is a Zulu word which directly translates to “Certificate “ and I had the privilege of shooting Jabulile Majola’s debut EP called ISITIFIKETI . First and foremost I’m a very big fan of Jabu I listened to his music way before I met him and I’d be lying if I said I saw myself working with him , it caught me by surprise when he followed and dm’ed me immediately I left him on seen for about 2 hours just so I could put 2 and 2 together, I figured I had made the right decisions in the previous week by attending a Quiet Friday I’d consider them to be educational creative spaces . Long story short , I got back to him and we met up with his team and worked on the concept together in everything that was said one thing stood out for me which was “ THE EVERYDAY MAN “ that’s how he wanted to be portrayed and I thought to myself what better place to bring that vision to life it had to be the township my very own hood SITE C . Thank you Jabu for allowing me to exist in your story I have been SETIFIED and also a huge shout out to @daniloqrs and the @quietlifeco team for being amazing and kind this is just the beginning of great things . On the 18th of October 2024 Luvuyo @badthemoor came to me with an idea of starting a magazine. One that celebrates African Satorial Fashion , being the strategist that he is he had everything planned out but he needed a team.People who could help execute the vision I was sold by the name "MAYO MAG the people's source/sauce" because I pride myself in story telling . @mayodotnet is Africa's definitive High fashion and Luxury publication set to disrupt the global fashion industry with an unapologetic celebration of African creativity. As the continents most dynamic and ambitious fashion platform. Mayo magazine spotlights the Designers ,Artist and cultural innovators shaping the future of African fashion within the African diaspora and Beyond. We reached out to multiple creators in Cape Town and our first response was from @therealcrystalbirch .It was an honour being in her space where she creates all the magic . Crystal Birch is a prominent Milliner and founder of The Real Crystal Birch brand , she is more than a designer she's a taste maker and a fearless entrepreneur. @mayodotnet and Crystal Birch made me realise that magic begins at home and that has inspired me to do more and live within my brilliance. #sharinglocalstories#ishootwithorms#stubafrica#canonsa#localentrepreneur

-7455 I was galavanting the streets of Langa and I happened to see these young boys who were playing soccer ,which quickly sparked a memory of my younger self with some friends playing 4 PALI .What stood out to me was them using the Bin and staircase as iPali (the post) . After I took these images I told the boys that they don't know that they're living their best lives right now but they were just intrigued by the old camera that I was carrying. #filmphotography#tmax400film#bnw#ekasi

-7455 eKasi you'd find that almost every household if not all has a "DSTV" satellite dish ,after looking at these frames for a while I asked myself "Why do we have these ?" The obvious answer popped up which is to have access to cable Tv with good signal and what not but to me I see it as a status symbol on some "NAM NDIYA AFFORDA" . Frame 1 : UnoZala eXhoma iWashing. Frame 2 : "Kulandlu kuthengiswa utywala" . Frame 3 :Amajita : "Exe Ta cela usi fote " #filmphotography#bnw#tmax400film
