New VFX work for @hudabeauty Go see the real vault @ London Kings Cross, 11AM today! All done in-house by our talented team! @oneagencymedia Storyboard & preprod: @ajpanimations @caitlin20dunbar 3D Modelling & scuplting: @laufeygudnad @emvfx @ajpanimations Texturing: @mrliamato @emvfx Lighting: @ajpanimations @emvfx animation: @ajpanimations @emvfx Simulation: @emvfx Composting: @emvfx Clientside project Managament: Caitlin Dunbar, Maisie Hambleton & Amy Kennedy Turnaround time was bonkers, a few late nights getting this over the line 😅 The surrounding chains were super heavy to simulate. Would not have been possible without Houdini❤️. Ended up using a vellum proxy & point deform approach with seperate sim stages for each section giving full artistic control. Big shoutout to @ajpanimations for all his hard work aswell as a bunch of the @oneagencymedia 3D and project managment teams pulling together to get this one over this line. Another job well done!

This was a fun one. Just a quick piece I did for @theordinary China team & @oneagencymedia last year I handled the entire project myself from storyboard, modeling, shading, animation, lighting and lookdev to post and sound design. I don’t get many chances to fully own a project these days as a Head of Department, so it was really nice to dive into something end to end like the old days. Hopefully I still got it haha. Really playing on caustics using a custom shader, trying to get the products as realistic as possible in cycles/the timeframe. liquid was done with my realtime geonodes liquid setup, avalible on gumroad if your interested. Some of the best stuff got scrapped and isnt in the final here, so stay tuned for a behind the scenes soon. #blender3d #cyclesrender #productanimation

R&D for an upcoming personal project - I wanted to deepen my knowledge on the gas microsolvers in dops, there are so powerful and I honestly dont see many people diving in. Anyway, this also got my vex and programming brain back in gear - I made some quite advanced growth and popping control that will be useful for my upcoming project. In the end I decided on gasparticle seperate for the collision solving. It was givving the most bubble-like appearance with the ability to do the repulsion and attraction i want in a single node (tested against pop grains, vellum grains and even bullet lol) I didnt work from reference at this stage and this was purely to test some technicals, im aware it doesnt look like anything real currently. More flip testing! Some anti-gravity fluid - tonight I’ve explored a new method of adding bubbles to a flip sim with reseeding turned on. A classic problem, I was very excited to test this setup. Huge shoutout to @tomtaylor3d @therealentagma for being so smart with the vex to solve the changing ids that come with reseeding. It seems simple now we know, but I admit Ive had to just use an advected popnet in the past because I couldn’t solve the flicker using the existing reseeding flip points! Not done any flip in a while, gotta keep the workflow fresh in the mind👌 revisiting some custom sculpted velocity & surface oversampling - the aim for today was getting some nice micro ripples, I achieved what I wanted, although there is definitely too much surface tension and not the nicest shaped splash haha Big thanks to @mes_3dcg for the inspiration for today! I’ve been a fan of the sop level fluids for teaching beginners, however for some reason it can be a real struggle to get the small scale flips looking good with the sop level setup. A simple dopnet is much much faster to simulate in this scenario. We’ve been shortlisted four times in this year’s Prolific North Creative Awards, and we couldn’t be prouder!! Elemis: Ground Break has been nominated for Best Brand Launch & Activation/Event. Our full 3D project for Tacha is up for Best Motion Graphics & Animation. Our creative team as a whole has been recognised in the Best Creative Studio category—something that means a lot, especially as an independent agency putting out studio-level work. And last but not least, a special shoutout to Laufey, who’s been nominated as a Creative Rising Star. She fully deserves the spotlight—her work and growth have been incredible. ✨ Behind the Scenes ✨ Sharing some behind-the-scenes moments from our latest full CG campaign for @tatcha and their Dewy Skin Cream! 💧 In this project, I was responsible for creating the Houdini sims, while the rest of the magic was brought together by my talented colleagues @oneagencymedia , @ajpanimations , and @dannyfrommanny , who worked their skills in Blender and C4D. 🙌 Final scenes were assembled in Cinema 4D and rendered with Redshift for that perfect finish. 🎥✨ #redshift3d #C4D #blender3d #houdinifx #flipfluid #vfx #3Danimation #3dsimulation

Some recent 3D modelling work I did solo for @miele @oneagencymedia Probably the most complex 3D model I've created to date using 100% Blender. Every part was created to a very high fidelity so it could be seen from any angle, inside and out! The final vacuum consisted of around 300 pieces. My first time trying to rig THIS many pieces (in blender). After much testing, I ended up going with an armature/bones that all the pieces were weighed to I then created a proxy version that was easily manipulated in viewport, as well as the full quality model that could be turned off and on with a click. (this was more stable, without actually wieghting the pieces to the armature the full res version would sometimes just snap all the pieces to the world origin if the collection was turned off for too long...) #3d #3dmodeling #blender #blender3D #B3d #blendercycles #breakdown #behindthescenes
