These are some images I made doing the art direction of a video for luggage company @away , directed by @genis_rigol and animated/produced by @bol_house .
The idea for these videos was to explore different mythical places, and really try to imagine what it would be like to be there, sensorily. This one represents the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, a legendary architectural complex which would have been located near the ancient city of Babylon, in present day Iraq. I tried to learn as much as I could about Iraq's historical architecture, gathering references from Neo-Babylonian buildings, Abbasid palaces and mosques, as well as more ancient Sumerian ziggurats and temples.
Big thanks to @genis_rigol for doing a brilliant job directing and coming up with the concept/ideas. I had never collaborated with someone on a project like this before and I had so much fun and learned a LOT. It was a dream!
Also thanks to the @bol_house team, yall truly did some magic and made my drawings come to life. 🧙

This is a drawing inspired by a scene from Jon Fosse’s Melancholia I, which I read in December. It is also the cover of a mix I made recently. That mix was made based on all the albums that I listened to in 2025. I kept track of those albums in a Google spreadsheet. The link to that spreadsheet is in a post on a blog that I just started.
