get your ears ready for a full weekend of music, both live and recorded, coming up at the MusikMarkt at studio54! Between some intimate concerts there is the chance to hear, see and take home some of the finest releases of the Berlin (and beyond) independent music scene, in a cozy atmosphere on weserstrasse. Friday February 13th (spooky!) 17-22Uhr Saturday February 14th (sweet valentine!) 14-20Uhr weserstrasse 54, Neukölln Friday: 19Uhr - @bleedingblackwood Timo C Engel performs his atmospheric Lo-Fi Pop Hymns, sometimes minimalistic, sometimes opulent. First played in the dark. Sometimes borrowed from the world and transferred to the computer but always connected to nature. 20Uhr - Helmar (cassette release) Helmar is the new project of Berlin-based artist Marieke Helmke, who creates intimate indie pop with soft, direct vocals, tactile tape-warmed instrumentation and a psychedelic touch. Celebrating her cassette release, she will play stripped-backed versions of the upcoming album and new songs with her band Joni Saksala and Hakim Azmi. Saturday: 17Uhr @the_schnickschnack Wir sind der Pop der an Dir kleben bleibt, wie Kaugummi an Deinem Schuh, der süße Fehler der den Gehweg zuckert. 18Uhr @tannopippi Tanno is playing songs on guitar. 19Uhr @duchampdrone DuChamp is an Italian scientist, musician and curator based in Berlin, religiously devoted to drone. Drone is related to a precise childhood memory: the sound of the hair dryer, that her mother used to fix her hair. That was the sound of care, bliss, and infinite love. Vinyls, Cassettes, CDs and comics for listening and taking home by: @emitter_micro @kitchenlegrecords @patrick_weh_weiland @bleedingblackwood @mary_ocher @muteswimmer @koob_music @no_more_music @glasambel AND MORE!!! EM0011/2 Hell´s Bells – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack A Film by John Bock Music by Kris Limbach Limited edition golden Vinyl (250pcs.) released: 2019 emitter micro / Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König “Starring leading German actors including Bibiana Beglau, Lars Eidinger, Frank Seppeler and Laurenz Leky, the feature-length work Hell’s Bells transforms the genre of the Western into a melodramatic and meandering story populated by allegorical characters. Hell’s Bell’s unfolds in a gloomy, nocturnal realm centring on an unnamed town. Bock tells the story of a stranger (Beglau) who arrives in town accompanied by a deaf child. The child influences the actions and fates of the other characters like a puppeter pulling invisible strings, steering the plot from within. Inflicting death out of sheer boredom and capriciousness, she symbolises mysterious malevolence, but is also a retributive power, using the figure of the stranger as a proxy or weapon for inflicting harm on other evil characters.” (from Berlinische Galerie, Museum of Modern Art) Kris Limbach´s take on “Hell´s Bells” is of a grotesque and fragile opulence and does not fear to render experimental noise and subtle insanity to erupt the shallowness of what could be a traditional score for a western movie. All Music Composed And Performed by Kris Limbach Produced and Arranged by @quasijohnbock and @krislimbach Graphics by Andreas Eberlein, Aroma Berlin Photos by Martin Sommer
