A fresh set of photos from my Orc bust project captured with incredible skill by @rc.art_and_design , who truly brought every pore, crack and scar of this creature to life.
This piece was part of my journey through the Creative Sculpting for Film & TV course, where I pushed myself to explore realism, texture and storytelling through practical effects. Rachel’s photos highlight exactly what I wanted to express: a creature shaped by battle, time, and a world far rougher than ours.
Huge thank you to Rachel for these phenomenal shots they’re going straight into my portfolio. I’m grateful for all.

First prop / set build for a short film 🎬
Designed and built this backstage theatre mirror with practical lighting for The Stanislavski Method.
A mix of set decoration and functional prop, created to bring that warm, lived-in dressing room atmosphere to life.
Seeing it on set, with the lights on and people around it… that’s when it stopped being just a build.
It became part of the story.
Huge thanks to @valeria_777_filmmaker and @owenbehan for the trust and the opportunity, really grateful to be part of this project.
Really proud of this one. More to come. 💡

Built this Thousand Sunny case mod back in 2017 for Campus Party.
The entire structure was designed as a functional PC case, inspired by the Thousand Sunny from One Piece.
The internal frame was made using resin and fiberglass, while most of the external details were crafted from recycled materials.
Wood textures were created using recycled popsicle sticks, sails from potato sack fabric, and many small elements were built from whatever materials I could repurpose at the time.
It was a mix of prop building, sculpture, and modding, turning the Thousand Sunny into a fully functional computer.
Still one of my favorite builds.

From screen to cake! 🕷️🖐️ It was an absolute blast bringing some Nevermore vibes to life with this sculpted piece. Every stitch on Thing and every crack in the stones was a fun challenge in texture and realism.
A massive thank you to @markmahersculptor for the opportunity to create this for the Wednesday production team here in Ireland. It’s not every day your work gets to be both a prop and a treat! 🍰✨

#TBT to one of my craziest projects! Yes, there is a fully functional PC inside this Digimon.
I built this Tentomon custom PC case mod back in 2018 for Campus Party, and it took me 4 months of hard work. The wings actually open to reveal the hardware inside!
🤝 This case mod was built in partnership using parts from @coolermaster_brasil@coolermaster
The Process:
- Started with a Pepakura papercraft base.
- Reinforced the structure with resin and fiberglass.
- Sculpted and smoothed everything out using cold porcelain.
- Hand-painted to bring this digital monster to life.
Swipe to see the process from paper to a fully functional PC shell! 👉

In 2016 I built a Lapras inspired oversized prop, approximately 1 metre long.
It was entirely made using pepakura and developed as a fully functional cooler.
The idea was to turn the creature into a practical object:
The shell opens, you add ice and cans, close it again, and it keeps everything chilled for hours.
During testing, it maintained ice for around 8 hours even in Brazilian heat — with some ice still remaining after a full day.
The build included:
– Internal sealing system
– Side clamps to secure the shell
– A drainage tap
This was one of the first projects where I truly felt the finish reached a professional level.
Creature design can go beyond sculpture.
It can become interaction.
It can become function.

In 2015 I built a full-scale Charizard for Campus Party Brazil.
The project started as a papercraft structure and was reinforced with resin, fibreglass, and a welded internal metal frame to support the entire body.
It took six months to complete.
The surface was finished with automotive body filler, extensive sanding, and automotive paint.
The most interesting part was the internal system:
I installed an Arduino with a Bluetooth module connected to a smoke machine inside the head.
I could trigger it from my phone, and smoke would come out of the nostrils.
Looking back, I would approach certain decisions differently today.
But this was the build that made me realise I wanted to create physical creatures using practical effects.
This was one of my first large-scale builds.
And where everything started.

Burn prosthetic created during my prosthetics course.
From sculpture to mould making, casting, application and final paint using alcohol-based colours — all done step by step by me.
Really proud of how the texture and blister details came out. Always learning, always pushing.

I still can’t believe I made this guy here in Ireland.
From the first bit of clay to the final paint and costume, this orc, changed the way I see sculpture, FX and myself.
A HUGE thank you to:
@jdooley_art , @rockabilly100 , @rc.art_and_design , @markmahersculptor , @odysseystudios.ie and @wwetb_official 💛
Thank you for your patience, for sharing your knowledge, for every demo, every correction and every “you can push this further”. You didn’t just teach me techniques, you opened a door to a new career and a big dream.
I’m so proud to be part of this orc army and this class. This is only the beginning.
Can’t wait for the next projects!
40 Years of Back to the Future!
So here’s a throwback to one of my favorite DIY builds: the Flux Capacitor!
I made this years ago, and it’s still one of the projects I’m most proud of.
If you want to see how I built it step by step (in Portuguese), here are the videos:
