End of February, we hosted Architect’s Art- a time to show off those whose work we admire that doesn’t get seen by the public eye. We asked 6 architects to show their side creative projects, and were blown away by the work. Opening photos here- exhibition photos incoming. Thank you @qnamifilm for the photos.

In mid January, we hosted the Panel of Amateurs at Emeco House alongside legendary local architect Mark Mack. A conversation between architects, community activists, experts, and Venice locals to discuss the future of our city and present ideas. What a great conversation and so much more to come.

On Tuesday, we @emecochairs hosted an event with @kvadrattextiles around sustainability and circularity. Two terms that carry weight and greenwashing potential- but are still critical goals of our industry. The group of architects, designers, and friends from @patagonia shared in a dinner conversation about how we approach circularity- does it mean more durable to extend the time in the field? Is it a consumer education problem? Should we reconsider how we treat vintage and used furniture/textile? We are so grateful for our collaborators who engage in these discussions and help move the needle. So much more to come!

A Chair that collapses and assembles within a minute, weighs less than 40 pounds, and fits flat within 3 cubic feet… oh and built in less than an academic quarter. These students from Stanford’s graduate class in Mechanical Engineering (ME263: The Chair) accomplish the goal with flair. We are proud to be exhibiting their work here at Emeco House on May 17th.
