A poem for Embercombe
When weâre born from the womb,
Weâre so pure and no darkness looms.
But as we get older and fear replaces fun,
It often makes most people want to run.
Some do run for a while but most stop and see,
That thereâs nowhere to run to, this world is our responsibility.
So we find our solutions to help save us all,
Like visiting Embercombe that restores faith above all.
With their support and guidance in these trying times,
They show us new ways to unite great minds.
With compassion, empathy and so much more,
My faith in humanity has been restored.
Heart-by-heart, hour-by-hour,
These great minds have gone into the night to find their power.
In the dark, in the trees, with the sun and the breeze,
They found themselves amongst the leaves.
Thinking back to being in the presence of elders,
Where guidance and prayers were spoken
through embers.
They realise that all hope is not lost,
and no more lives will be the cost.
For a new day is coming for love to leave itâs mark,
And in doing so, to shut out the dark.
For nothing is forever and darkness will lose,
If we all join hands and loudly choose.
Choose to be brave and kind, to love and not fear,
To keep those safe who we all love dear.
All is not lost, no, not yet,
I see that now and I wonât forget.
I will spread love, joy and kindness,
Thanks to Embercombe whose life is priceless.
