We are delighted to share news from our friends at @healrewilding - Into the Light rewilding festival is returning for its third year at the beautiful site of Heal Somerset for a weekend of ideas, connection, and inspiration. Taking place on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th June 2026, this year’s theme is water, celebrating rivers and wetlands through both rewilding and cultural perspectives. This is especially timely as Heal has recently completed their major wetlands project (with help from some very busy beavers) Friday is geared towards those in ecology, land management, and anyone with an interest in nature recovery, while Saturday opens up to a wider audience with a greater focus on sharing stories, challenging ideas, asking questions and celebrating the many ways people are making a difference for nature in their own places. Key speakers include: * Jack Perks, wildlife cameraman and river conservationist * James Wallace, chief executive, River Action * Meg Avon, poet, activist, performance artist * Minni Jain, director, The Flow Partnership * Stephen Rutt, author and naturalist This is the third year of Into the Light and it has proved to be an unforgettable experience, with lots to learn, lots to inspire you and a lot of very nice people to meet. Head to @healrewilding for more info and tickets! #rewilding #festival #communitysupport #ecologicalrestoration #intothelight

These are not just flies. These are St Mark's flies... 😄 Black, shiny and sluggish on the ground, these easily misidentified creatures are fantastic pollinators and are commonly found around hedgerows, fields, wetlands and the edges of woodland. So-called because they tend to appear in large numbers towards the end of April (St Mark's Day is on 25 April), these shortlived hawthorn and fruit tree pollinators will start to disappear towards the end of May. This might look like a pest swarm but we at Heal are happy to have hosted it! #UKWildlife #StMarksFly #NatureRecovery #Rewilding

Something special is happening in Somerset this June — and it’s a sign of a much bigger shift. 🌿 Our partners at @HealRewilding are bringing back Into the Light, their rewilding festival, for its third year. Heal has just completed a major wetlands restoration project (with considerable help from some very busy Beavers 🦫 - quite literally!). Over two days, you’ll hear ideas, stories, questions, and connect with a lot of very good people in one place. 🌱 Come on Friday for ecology, land management & nature recovery 🤝Join on Saturday for stories, ideas, & celebrations of the many ways people are making a difference for nature in their own places. Key speakers include: 🎥 Jack Perks, wildlife cameraman and river conservationist 🌊 James Wallace, chief executive, River Action 🎭 Meg Avon, poet, activist, performance artist 🌍 Minni Jain, director, The Flow Partnership 📖 Stephen Rutt, author and naturalist If you’re in the UK, book your place → tickettailor.com/events/healrewilding/1793426 🎟️ Or for more information: .uk/events/into-the-light Momentum for nature recovery is building all over the world. 🌿 Ever wondered what rewilding really looks like on the ground? Join us for a unique one-day experience with 'the rewilding guy', Alastair Driver - exploring not one, but two rewilding sites at different stages of recovery. Spend the morning at Heal Somerset, just over three years into its journey, before heading to nearby Cannwood, where nature is already thriving. Expect a relaxed walk-and-talk, honest conversations and decades of real-world insight into the challenges (and joys) of rewilding. 🌱 Curious? 100 years of Sir David Attenborough 🌍 A lifetime spent championing the beauty of our natural world and the urgency of protecting it. His work has shown us that nature isn’t separate from us, it’s vital to our wellbeing, climate stability and our future. As we face biodiversity loss on an unprecedented scale, nature recovery isn’t optional - it’s essential. Today, we celebrate not only a century with an extraordinary naturalist but also the inspiration he has given us here at Heal to take action for nature for generations to come. #DavidAttenborough #Rewilding #NatureRecovery #Inspiration #HealRewilding

Happy Earth Day you beauties 🌍🌳💚 To celebrate #EarthRaise kicks off today! A huge week for environmental charities, where you can help make double the difference. Through #EarthRaise @biggiveorg will double any donation you make to a Big Give environmental charity over the next week, helping them continue their crucial, vital work in conservation, education, wildlife and beyond, all in aid of our planet and its future! This month I spent time at @healrewilding in Somerset. A brilliant & exciting rewilding project where nature is leading the way & transforming the land in the most extraordinary way. Just look at the difference & changes 2 beavers have made, turning this field into a thriving wetland 🦫 Rewilding is so exciting and truly only of our greatest nature based solutions. It was a very special full circle moment for me, as I first started supporting Heal long before they had this sight and were just trying to fundraise to make the purchase. So to see the project now in full flow and nature taking its course was very cool and proof if we give nature time & space, nurture it, support, it will do the rest. This year, Heal is raising funds towards a second site in the north of England where plants & wildlife can recover, climate solutions can take root, and people can reconnect with nature’s restorative power. Through Earth Raise, you can support this work & others work right now via @biggiveorg where every donation to them will be doubled. Thank you! Peace & Love 💚
