Look 6 The giraffe /Wearable soft toys Mira wearing a giraffe cape. Material on the cape is manually knitted wool single knit that is hand printed and partially felted, and bonded on laminated foam sheet. Underneath is a backpack-like support structure and a dress weaved with jacquard weaving machine, hand printed and brushed. The big giraffe has glass eyes made by me and it's legs are moveable. The mane and tuft of the tail are made from chunky wool yarn. Small giraffes on collar have black small glass eyes and hand embroidered nostrils. Happy new year! 2025 was an interesting one ✨️ In the beginning of the year I was working at Aalto University as a teatching assistant. In June, I moved to Tokyo to work at Mina Perhonen's atelier. During my time at Aalto, I gradually built a strong trust around my work. Tokyo has brought amazing people and experiences into my life, and it has also taught me that building the same kind of trust in a foreign country takes time. The DIALOGUES @dutchdesignweek is done in collaboration with @aaltotextiles and @sst_textiledesign . This joint exhibition presents textiles as a medium for creativity, design, technology and innovation. Last day to see the @aalto_fashion Exhibition24! 🐶 Open until 18 at Suurjännitehalli, Otakaari 5L, Otaniemi, Espoo. ❤️ With my exhibited work, I Weave Clothes, I won the Näyttely24 Award, which was awarded for the first time this year. The jury praised my work for its innovative textile design that combines art and functionality. According to the jury, the work is characterised by high technical skills, which heads the way forward for future garment making. Yesterday, I won the Näyttely24 exhibition prize with my MA collection I Weave Clothes 🩵💛🧡 I am very honored and happy that my work was fully understood by our lovely jury @stephdheygere , @annabel_fernandes , @anelyngejorlen and Antti Kekki. Thank you so much! It means a lot for me that I was able to convey the idea behind my collection and its multilayered whole garment weaving technique. This collection was woven in collaboration with @vanellitextile Huge thanks also to my thesis supervisor @maaritsalolainen and my advisors @hilkkamaia and @holly__mcquillan for all your support during the collection making! Now, the work can be seen in the exhibition at the High Voltage Hall, Otakaari 5L. The exhibition is open until 8.6. between 12-18, except being closed on 2.6. Happy new year! ⭐ In 2023, the second year in a row, I was honored to win one of the KTTA President Awards from the 4th 3D Creative Design Competition. This time the theme was "Retro Revival: Reimagine the iconic looks of the era after 1950 with a modern twist." The competition is held by the Korea Textile Trade Association (KTTA) in collaboration with @itsclo3d It was exciting to use Adobe Substance in creating this.
