Little Bitch is published next week!!!!!!!!!!
She’s coming out the womb a confirmed social butterfly, so please do come and see her!! She’s going to be in some utterly dazzling company 💖
Alton 🧡 Bournemouth 💙 London 💜 Manchester 💛
Today I got some really lovely and totally unexpected feedback on Little Bitch from none other than Rishi Dastidar!!!!!!! I may have got a little bit happy-teary reading it.
I feel so blessed for all the support Little Bitch has already received, not least in the form of endorsements. 🥹 It’s beyond my wildest dreams that poets I respect so deeply would describe my work as “astonishing” (Rishi Dastidar), “a marvel” (Rachel Long), and as full of “language games where a lyric ‘I’ cavorts against the limits of how a self is permitted to self-narrate” (Susannah Dickey).
I daresay Little Bitch might actually be quite a good book, and that it might be advisable to pre-order a copy (you’ll get a free badge!) 💖
Guess what? All my dreams are coming true! My debut full-length collection is landing in April 2026 from the icons over at VERVE Poetry Press 🎉
“Sharp, tender, hilarious. Little Bitch is a marvel! I am moved and changed reading it. Sutton takes us from raspberry ice cream to murdered girl-meat, oscillating between the brutal and beautiful, the candied and cruel, masterfully.
‘Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous’. I’m going to be shouting about this one from the rooftops.” — Rachel Long (yes, THE Rachel Long)
Can I talk about how much I love the cover? Please, please do judge my book by its cover, an original artwork by @kaiya_bartholomew — I don’t know she did it, but it looks exactly how writing these poems felt 💖
It has some poems from my pamphlets Antonyms for Burial (@14poems ) and Artisanal Slush (@verve.publisherofpoetry ), and oodles of new stuff too! To quote Marina and the Diamonds, expect “blood, guts and angel cake” (especially the cake part)
Pre-order now from your favourite indie bookshop, OR online from @vervepoetryshop for a FREE pin badge so you can let everyone know you are a Little Bitch 😘
Closed out Little Bitch’s launch tour in high style at @houseofbooksandfriends , in their converted Victorian cloakroom — one of the most unique spaces I’ve been lucky enough to read in! Thank you so much to everyone who has made Little Bitch’s first few weeks so special 💖💖💖
Whilst I was up, I took the chance to explore Manchester, catching up with old friends and making new ones. What a city!!!! 10/10 food, 10/10 museums, 11/10 cocktails. Can’t wait to go back 🚃
MANCHESTER!! There will be books. There will be friends. There will be bitch 💖🐝
Please join me, Roma Havers and Betty Doyle on Wednesday 6th May (next week!!) for some poetry and chatter at House of Books and Friends. Everyone is welcome — bring your pals, bring your mum, bring your Hinge date. Guaranteed to be a hoot.
Nab your tickets from @houseofbooksandfriends 💖

Last night in London, the Neon was Bitching.
It was such an honour to not only get to hear some of my favourite @troycabida poems, but to read and chat with him too! Huge thank you to @bentownleycanning for his insightful questions and just all-round joyful presence.
Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a special night. May you all be neon. May you all be bitches.
Missed the event? @burleyfisher still have some signed copies of both Neon Manila and Little Bitch for you to get your mitts on 💖
A beautiful, sunny weekend in Bournemouth for @bournemouthwritingfestival 🌞
In the @winchesterpoetry Poetry Marquee I held a haiku drop in, resulting in some total bangers!
I also had a great time leading a walking poetry workshop — we wrote poems in the form of blue plaques, poems in the voice of the Lower Gardens, poems in which the Big Wheel was the muse, getting inspiration from poets like John McCullough and Liz Berry.
I even had time to read on the beach, visit Mary Shelley’s grave, win big in the arcade, and get my museum nerd on at Russell Cotes—their Flower Fairies exhibition is absolutely darling!
It was a total delight and pleasure to be part of such a brilliant programme of events, and to spend the weekend surrounded by lovely writers ☺️
Yesterday I had the most fun swanning around some AMAZING London bookshops, signing copies of Little Bitch 💖
There are signed copies, with variously unhinged inscriptions, in:
💖 Queen’s Park Books — Little Bitch is currently part of their window display!!!
💖 Pages of Hackney — darling bookshop dog Alby helped me sign copies. He wasn’t a fan of the Hello Kitty poem though.
💖 The National Theatre Bookshop — the perfect place for a drama queen like Little Bitch!!
💖The London Review Bookshop — in their totally iconic poetry basement in some very snazzy company 💃
Seeing my debut collection on display in some truly magical places is so blissfully surreal. Childhood dreams coming true 💖

I don’t think I’ll ever stop beaming 🥰
I can’t believe publication day is here!!! 😭💖
Little Bitch is dedicated to my mum. She always told me: ‘be anything you want to be, as long as you are happy.’ So I became a poet. And, yes, I am happy.
I have so much gratitude in my heart for everyone who has helped, supported and empowered me through this journey. There are more than a few thank-yous I have the joy of needing to say—but there are two people in particular that I want to thank today, on publication day.
First of all, thank you to Stuart Bartholomew at @verve.publisherofpoetry for your fanatical belief in this book, and for letting me be a total diva about it. You make amazing things happen. There’s no one I’d rather have done this with.
And thank you to @isabellebaafi for being the editor of my dreams, for pushing me and pushing this book to be the best possible version of itself. You were so generous with your insight, your honesty, your wisdom and enthusiasm. Thank you.
And now Little Bitch is out in the world. I hope she has a good life. I hope she is happy.
