“slow” choreography has a way of exposing everything One of my favourite things about teaching and practicing slower, more grounded movement is that there’s nowhere to hide. You have to sit in the timing, control the transitions, connect to the music, and fully commit to every detail. Last night’s pop-up was rooted in rumba-inspired movement, and while it moved at a different pace than my usual classes, it challenged everyone in a completely different way… which made it incredibly rewarding to teach🖤 Would you rather learn something fast and explosive or slow and controlled? #danceclasses #latinballroom #commercialdance #slowburn #learntodance

love love this song and loved this choreo from my beg/int class @theplaygroundla one thing i love most about these classes is creating a space where latin ballroom flavour and technique can feel more approachable, explorative, and creatively freeing for all kinds of dancers. while my classes are rooted in latin ballroom foundations, they’re also blended with commercial performance, styling, and other movement influences that have shaped me as an artist over the years. and honestly, that spirit of blending worlds is part of what made me fall in love with latin ballroom in the first place. the style itself has always carried evolution, influence, culture, music, and connection within it. i’m just grateful to have a platform where i get to share this passion in a way that feels authentic to me, while watching both new and experienced dancers connect with it in their own way. so grateful for this community and everyone who continues to learn, grow, and dance with me🖤 #latinfusion #danceclass #latinballroom #dancersofinstagram #commercialdance

these routines didn’t even exist 4 months ago so incredibly proud of @ashleyfeldmann and @clogan_mclogan for the way they showed up at @emeraldballdancesport this past weekend. these routines were choreographed by my coach @corkyballas only four months ago, and watching the amount of growth, discipline, trust, and commitment they’ve poured into the process since then has been really special to witness while sharing this routine was certainly fun, this performance also gave them the opportunity to move beyond studio rehearsals and experience performing in front of a live room full of people before stepping onto the competition floor together - and they absolutely rose to the occasion so excited for what’s ahead for these two and so grateful to be part of the journey🖤 would you try latin dancing? #latinballroom #dancecompetitions #learntodance #pasodoble #adultdance

memories for the books @emeraldballdancesport so immensely proud of @clogan_mclogan @ashleyfeldmann and @karinnagreksa_ not just for what they brought to the Emerald floor, but for everything it took to get there. the hours, the discipline, the choice to keep showing up - a part that’s not always seen and what made it all so special to witness. Ashley and Christopher received their routines only four months ago, and Karinna made the decision to step on the floor only six weeks ago. all three of them rose to the moment in a way that speaks volumes, and it’s really quite insane what they have all amounted to in such a short time. I’m so grateful to work with students who show up with this kind of commitment and intention. also really special getting to share my coach phenomenal coach @corkyballas with my students. having his level of expertise to shape their routines and watching how quickly and beautifully they came together - was something really meaningful. what’s been built over the past year within my work has expanded in ways I’m really proud of, shaped by so many incredible people along the way. bringing @sashayermakova_ onto my team this year has been such a meaningful addition. having someone by my side who understands my vision and who I genuinely enjoy building and spending time with elevates everything. thank you for all of your support this weekend and always. to everyone who came out and reached out online to share support - friends, family, students - thank you. your presence, your energy, your cheers… it all mattered more than you know. thank you to @emeraldballdancesport and their team for such a stunning, elevated experience. truly a special weekend. we’ll be seeing you again next year ✨
