This past Tuesday was my 1-year anniversary at @sagapressbooks — I’m a few years behind on my insta posting but here’s a selection of some of what we’ve been cooking up this year — some out now and ready, some TK! Really grateful to have gotten to work with some of the best designers and illustrators out there, and to get to keep doing it!
Time to put it on the feed! I made the move 2.5 weeks ago to @sagapressbooks to be the new Art Director. I’ll be focusing on SciFi, Fantasy, Horror, and all things genre! Posting on the feed for the first time in 2 years to say that yesterday was my last day at PRH. 5.5 years felt both very long and not long at all!
I lived in so many different apartments, occupied various cubicles, and have boxed and unboxed the same sets of books too many times. I went through a pandemic and wfh here, sitting all alone working in my rat-infested apartment while the world shut down outside, and finally got my dream corner window cube for a brief moment before being shuffled around again.
I worked on 4 different imprints and at times attended 4 different cover meetings a week. I discovered my passion for working with illustrators and art directing and got to do all the coolest, funnest assignments in the group. Aliens, vampires, murder, fairytales, zombies, sharks, hunting, dragons, the classification of living things—I got all of the dreamiest work and collaborated with the smartest and most creative people I’ve ever met.
A special shoutout to my Godzilla design group chat, without whom everything would have been a little gloomier.
In every job I’m always chasing 2 things: nice people and fun work—and I can live without the fun. I’m so grateful I got both things here and that this place prepared me for my next adventure so well.
After a brief computer hiatus I promise to finally start posting all the work I’ve gotten the opportunity to create here on the feed!
