"Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg" - a beautiful & honest documentary about the highs and lows of my grandmothers life story and her influence and impact on rock and roll, music & fashion.
A little background: after her passing in 2017, my family and I were clearing out her belongings when we came across an unknown box with various papers, in which we found her personally written, unseen & unpublished manuscript.
Using her script as a narrative thread, Alexis Bloom and Svetlana Zill worked closely together with my family and in particular my dad, Marlon, to shed light on Anita's story through her own words. The film is predominantly cut with never seen before digitised/ remastered super 8 footage shot from her own camera.
Next stop will be Rome Film Festival!
