Finally ended up next to a Berthe but thankfully not in the attic.
Grateful and humbled for this picture from a private collector who keeps my 2020 print next to a Morisot.
Haven't been here in a while, lots of life news, some of which might get shared in time.

Thanks so much to @suz.walsh , @stephane.hanly , @eilo8 and @happpychance for organising 'Exit Strategy,' a group exhibition that took place over the weekend. It's sad that this house, which was home to so many artists over the last 15 years, is slipping into the ether. It would be great if Dublin had more affordable homes, not just for artists but for everyone. It really seems like Dickensian times are ahead of us. Anyways, the work:
'Government'.
As a young woman, I met a dolphin skeleton on the beach, an encounter which had a profound effect on me. Emigrating in 2011 and unable to find a place for the dolphin, I planted it in the garden of my home at 27 Royal Canal Bank. When the notice of eviction arrived in 2024, I returned to retrieve my old acquaintance from the earth.
Plaster-filled teats support the bones and hold them down against the pull of black helium balloons to which they are bound by hair. The mirror, wetted with breastmilk, which both human and dolphin mothers feed their newborns, opens a portal through which the balloons collaborate with gravity to pull the bones back towards the earth. The whole precarious assemblage takes on the function of the connecting ligaments that have rotted away, reconstructing the spine and buoying it between densities.
Dolphin and artist are reunited as co-evictees, of past homes, past bodies, past wombs, past relations, past selves, and the past itself.

My review of 'Bogskin' at the RHA for the latest VAI News Sheet. It's a really interesting show - fifty years of artists responding to boglands in Ireland. Go, see!
