It’s impossible to speak about raï without remembering the legacy of Cheb Nasro.
This song has meant a lot to me for a long time, and I wanted to share my own interpretation of it. We filmed the visual in Japan, a country whose sense of simplicity and respect has deeply inspired me. The minimalism in Japanese culture felt like a gentle way to reflect the honesty and emotion that raï carries.
I’m grateful for the chance to connect these two worlds and for everyone who helped make this project possible. 🗺🖇🖇🖇

Sharing the last set of our photography project with @nataalmedia
This final set celebrates youth using fashion as a language of self-expression, bold, rebellious, colorful, and unapologetically individual.
Inspired by Tokyo’s Harajuku identity and the creative energy of Algeria’s raï culture, especially in cities like Oran, it explores how fashion becomes a way for young people to express identity, freedom, and individuality within society.

Last October, I went to Tokyo for the first time, where I had the chance to work on my first photography project with @nataalmedia : “When Algeria Meets Japan.” 🇩🇿🤍🇯🇵
An homage to two cultures that may seem worlds apart, yet share a deeply connected soul. The intention was to show how we can be linked through human values, even without geographical proximity. Through this research and creative process, I realized just how much we truly have in common.
In these sets, I wanted to explore themes of respect, tradition, heritage, and the importance of our elders. But also the beauty of simplicity in the way we live, the essence of « wabi-sabi ».
A huge thank you to the entire team who helped bring this project to life, and turned what once felt like an overly ambitious idea into something real. 🫶
