Sandra Knecht: THE DINNER PARTY @serpentineuk 09.03.2025 For The Dinner Party at Serpentine, Sandra Knecht brought her radical culinary practice to London, transforming a meal into an exploration of home—as comfort, as alienation, as a shared experience. Hosted with chefs Michaela Frank, Vera Zimmermann and Friends of Ours at The Magazine restaurant, the performance challenged notions of belonging through taste, memory, and conversation. As an extension of her solo exhibition Home Is a Foreign Place at Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger | KBH.G (on view until 27 April 2025), the event also marked the UK launch of her book Home Is a Foreign Place, with Knecht in conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist. Presented in collaboration with @kbhgeiger . Huge thanks to @hansulrichobrist @luciapietroiusti_ @daisymgould @kostasstas @thefriendsofours and the whole team at Serpentine for this magical experience. SANDRA KNECHT HOME IS A FOREIGN PLACE 10.01-27.04.2025 @kbhgeiger The exhibition Home Is a Foreign Place at the Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger | KBH.G addresses the concept of home in various ways – as a feeling, a place, and an idea. It questions how our understanding of home evolves and how deeply it impacts human existence. Home Is a Foreign Place represents the concentrated culmination of Sandra Knecht’s practice and is her most extensive solo exhibition to date. @chnaechtspaecht @michellejeannettenicol @neutralzurich ♥️

Thank youuuuu everyone for coming to the show in Basel 🖤 BENJAMIN LALLIER HAMPTON‘S CAVE June 12-July 7, 2023 ... Descending to the basement, the viewer enters the second level of the labyrinth: a human-size maze of dark, shiny sculptures. The light dances on their polished surfaces, making them appear iridescent and strangely undressed of their true character as furniture - simultaneously unnerving and exciting. The painting of Dionysus (after Caravaggio) forms the centrepiece of the exhibition. Opposing the Apollonian force of reason, Dionysus captivates us with his ever-playful gaze, challenging us to rely solely on intuition as our guiding principle. As the viewer progresses through the maze of couches, their movement becomes controlled and directed. The painting itself remains elusive. Direct access is denied, establishing a relationship that intertwines playful restriction of intimacy with forceful spatial obedience. @ben__lallier 🫵👀🫵

BENJAMIN LALLIER HAMPTON’S CAVE Open FRI&SAT 3-7pm Bleichestrasse 3 4058 Basel The largely empty upper floor, with its open doors facing the garden, challenges the idiosyncrasies of the gallery space. It constitutes a symbolic space where the viewer feels free and in control of their movement, unaware that they’ve just become a participant in a simple maze: action, path, reward. Descending to the basement, the viewer enters the second level of the labyrinth: a human-size maze of dark, shiny sculptures. Come by Curated by me @ben__lallier Photos 1-7: Dlovan Shaheri
