They say you can’t outrun your problems, but on the trails, I learned how to run through them.✨ Since 2015, trail running has been my therapy, my community, and my purpose. It taught me that with enough grit, anything is possible. 💪🏽 Side Note: While trail running has been and still is a huge part of my healing journey, it is just one tool in my toolbox. I also work with a therapist, and I highly encourage anyone struggling with their mental health to reach out to a professional too. 💚 #trailrunning #ultrarunner #mentalhealth

Last month, I took myself on a solo trip to Guatemala. 🇬🇹 I needed space. Space to breathe, to ground myself, and to just be. So I chose somewhere less popular, Rio Dulce. No crowds. Just nature, water, and stillness. 🌿 It was exactly what my soul needed. 🥰 Looking back, I think that trip played a bigger role in my 100K than I realized. Calming my nervous system before race day, especially with so many changes happening in my life, made a difference. I’m on a journey of reminding myself: ONE LIFE. People will come and go. Chapters will close and new will open. But how I choose to show up for myself? That’s mine. The more I do uncomfortable things like solo traveling, the more my comfort zone expands. And the more I realize just how beautiful this life really is. ✨ Here’s to not waiting on others to do the things our soul desires. 🥂 #solotravel #guatemala #riodulce #onelife #trailrunner

This summer, I will be attempting the High Sierra Trail (HST) in one day. The HST, is a 72 mile point-to-point route in Sequoia National Park (in California). I plan to do it from Mt. Whitney Portal to Crescent Meadow. ⛰️ These type of adventure runs is what I love most about being an ultrarunner. 🥰 I’ve been dreaming about this adventure run for a while, and now it’s time to make it happen. New training block officially starts this week. It’s grind time baby! 💪🏽 Looking forward to sharing this journey with you. I hope you’re inspired to also chase your big goals that scare you, because life is too short to not try. ✨ #highsierratrail #ultrarunning #trailrunning #chasethosedreams #onelife

Three days volunteering at @cocodona250 and I left more inspired than ever. 🥰 From off-roading adventures just to reach Kamp Kipa, to watching elite runners grind it out at mile 61, to seeing the same athletes look stronger at mile 124 than they did 63 miles earlier... this race reminded me why I love this community. ❤️ The moment that hit hardest? Watching runners head into their second night at mile 124 completely solo. No pacer. Just them and the dark. And being at the finish line when @courtneydauwalter crossed? You could feel the love. The sportsmanship between @rachel__entrekin , @courtneydauwalter , and @_megeckert , women supporting women in this space that’s what it’s all about. 🙌🏽 The grit. The heart. The community. Can’t wait to be part of this again next year. 🏃🏽‍♀️🔥 Congratulations to all the finishers! 🥳 #cocodona250 #ultrarunning #ultramarathon #trailrunning

In her element.🏃🏽‍♀️ I love this sport we call ultra running. I love the challenge, the problem solving, the community, the runners high, and being able to connect with parts of myself that I get to visit when suffering or in moving meditation. 🥰 Super grateful to be running like this again. I know one day I won’t be able to, so going to ride this wave as much as I can and help others along the way! 🧡 In her phoenix era. 🐦‍🔥 📸: @cindyhikes #trailrunning #ultrarunner #ultrarunning #mountaingirl #runwithyourheart

After my Fuego y Agua 50K DNF, doubt crept in. 😔 Thoughts about dropping to the 50K at @machetetrailmadness came up. But then I asked myself, why am I doing this race in the first place? My answer: I want to take up space in these longer distances. I want to challenge myself. Out of 63 runners in the 100K, only 9 are females!! That’s 14%!! 😤 So in the 5 weeks after my DNF, I went all in. I applied everything I’ve learned from 10 years of ultrarunning: the strength training, vert, time on feet, mileage, and prioritizing recovery and nutrition on and off the trails. But the one thing that really boosted my confidence? Running a training loop on the actual course. Seeing what I was up against helped me build a real race strategy. 🙌🏽 If you’re training for a race and can get some miles on the course beforehand, I highly recommend it. It’s not just about the miles, it’s about understanding the terrain, the elevation, and the layout. And if you can’t get on the course before race day, ask someone who has run it before. That knowledge makes a difference in preparation for the race. 🤓 @machetetrailmadness 100K is this Saturday! Let’s see what happens. 🫠🔥 Special thank you to @cindyhikes for doing the training loop with me. Love you wifey! 😘 #ultrarunning #machetetrailmadness #ultrarunner #trailrunning
