LaMacchia explains, âI got into the Slow Core scene after discovering Idaho while out on the road with Candiria. It was â98 or â99, and we were backstage in some club, god knows where.
There was a cassette player in the dressing room, and one cassette that said Idaho on it. I popped the
cassette in out of curiosity, and I was blown away by what Iâd heard.
Discovering Idaho led to the discovery of Low, Codeine, and The Red House Painters and some other incredible bands.
I picked Monkey because itâs my favorite Low song of all time. Itâs just a beautiful song, and I am really pleased with what my band came up with for it. â

It was such a pleasure working on this film with such an incredible group of people, and Iâm so grateful to John, Shirel Kozak, Clark Filio, and the whole team for having me aboard. It was also a pleasure sharing production sound duties with the talented Austin Plocher. Itâs premiering on opening night of Sundance. Canât wait to celebrate with this team in Utah!
