This is not the America I went to war for. This is not the America our parents and grandparents sacrificed for. I’m Evan Hunt, Democratic nominee for Congress in Texas’ 3rd District. I’m running to defend the values that built our nation. Learn more at link in bio.
At a City Council meeting in Murphy, Texas, anti-immigrant activists used public comments to target Muslim families in our community.
I’m a veteran. I took an oath to the Constitution. That oath includes defending religious freedom and standing up when neighbors are treated as threats instead of Americans.
If you live in Texas’ newly redrawn 3rd District, including E. Plano, Allen, McKinney, Parker, Fairview, Lucas, Murphy, Wylie, Melissa, Princeton, Farmersville, Anna, Levon, Commerce, Greenville, Sulphur Springs, Mt. Pleasant and more - it’s the honor of my life to be your Democratic candidate for the November 2026 Congressional election.
I pledge to bring the Democratic Party back to its Texas roots - a party focused on 99% of Americans, not the 1%. A peaceful & patriotic, welcoming & forgiving, loud & proud party that fights for practical reforms to lift up everyday people. In America today, the middle class is shrinking while the billionaire class is booming. That is not just a failure of representation, it’s a moral failure.
The humble patriots that make our government and our military function aren’t the problem. The problem is that we’ve let big business and special interests into the highest echelons of government. To fix this, we must take back the House in 2026. With your help, we can set the right example for our children, rebuild what we’ve broken and remind the world what it really means to be American.

On May 7th, Courtney and I were honored to join Pastor Rosenthal and for a nonpartisan National Day of Prayer evening service alongside members of the broader church community, local leaders, and elected officials. In these divided times, we need more moments like this grounded in faith, unity, and service. This 14-year tradition is truly worth carrying forward.

My mother is incredible.
Her father was a taxi driver from an immigrant family, and she lost her mother far too young. Despite growing up poor, she earned full scholarships to University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.
She taught English on Native American reservations and in Israel. She spent more than 30 years serving as a school principal, dedicating her life to helping young people succeed.
Then she continued serving alongside Nobel Prize winners and United Nations personnel. At 76 years old, she joined the Peace Corps and spent a year in Micronesia helping organize and improve local schools.
Today, she still tutors students virtually from around the world and has helped countless young people get into college.
She raised two sons, has been married nearly 50 years, still wins prizes at golf tournaments, and even block-walks for the campaign.
So many mothers carry families through impossible circumstances. They sacrifice quietly, work endlessly, and spend their lives building up others without asking for recognition. They teach us what service, resilience, compassion, and unconditional love really look like.
Happy Mother’s Day to the women who hold families, communities, and generations together. The world is better because of you.
As we recognize AAPI Heritage Month, we also have to confront the growing wave of anti-immigrant and anti-South Asian prejudice being weaponized in our politics.
On Monday, I was honored to join Mihaela Plesa and Gene Wu for a town hall discussion about legislation like SB-17 and the dangerous trend of turning entire communities into political targets.
Texas is stronger because of its diversity. Our AAPI, South Asian, immigrant, and Muslim communities are our neighbors, teachers, veterans, doctors, and small business owners. They are part of the American story.
We can protect national security and enforce our laws without promoting fear, suspicion, and prejudice against entire groups of people.
No Texan should feel like they are less American because of where they came from, how they look, or how they worship.

The Collin County Democratic Party’s Day of Action on May 3 was a real success.
Volunteers showed up across the county, knocking doors, having conversations, and connecting with voters where it matters most. Meetups across multiple House districts (especially HD-61) helped build energy and momentum heading into the 2026 midterms.

I enjoyed spending time with members of our community before and after Juma prayers at the Islamic Association of Allen.
Great conversations and real connection. Everyone should feel safe and respected, no matter how they worship.

I was proud to endorse Orlando Lopez for Texas House District 33 at his Concert for Unity, featuring @treytaylorofficial .
We had a great crowd and great music in Richardson tonight. Orlando is the right candidate at the right time, running for the right reasons. Last cycle, HD33 went unopposed by Republicans. This year, we’re going to take it.

Local elections matter more than people think. City council decisions shape your roads, schools, safety, and daily life.
If we want government to work, we need representation at every level. And when federal dollars come back to our communities, we need responsible partners at the local level to put them to work the right way.
We’re out in Sachse activating the vote. Now it’s your turn.
Show up. Vote. Be heard.
I was honored to join and be given the chance to speak at the 49th Civic Engagement Human Rights Abuse Awareness event in Frisco.
We should all feel safe in our country, no matter where we come from or how we worship. That’s not politics, that’s who we are at our best.
Thank you to CECS for hosting, with special guests from the FBI, for bringing this important conversation together.
