A vision of grace and timeless beauty ✨ Sit within the rolling Yorkshire Wolds, Hotham Hall radiates effortless elegance - it’s grandeur and spirit creating the perfect canvas for a celebration of classic, chic refinement. Every detail of this style shoot was curated with intention - from the seasonal tonal florals that added texture to the tablescape, working in harmony with a soft linens and the wider landscape, to the exquisite interplay of light and atmosphere that illuminates every frame. I wanted the imagery to be the perfect compliment to Hotham‘s timeless, classic elegance – to mirror the beauty and spirit that makes this place so captivating. Working alongside some of my favourite creatives in the wedding industry, we built a story rooted in grace and quiet sophistication - a modern ode to romance, captured in its most effortless form. Hotham exudes a beauty that is both commanding and serene. Hi, I wanted to share with you my ‘tomato salad’ broken arch. So called, as its light airy foliage and pops of red and yellow remind me of a tomato salad. All seasonal and therefore capturing this point in time without screaming it’s Autumn in the usual way. It was such a joy to take some time for myself last week to spend the day with one of my favourite floral designers @anneliesvansantflowers I felt fully energised and recharged after our day of floral fun together. It’s so important to me to remain connected to the flowers and my why for leaving my previous career as a nurse and lecturer behind. My why was the positive effect that being around flowers had on my mental health. I love how they make me feel and I’m constantly pushing myself to delve further into my own creativity. Annelies asked me a very poignant question during our 1:1 day. She asked how would you describe your floral style? After a brief pause I replied…’modern, inspired by the garden, seasonal, and artistic’ Describing my style feels a bit ‘look at me’ and I find that side of marketing myself pretty tricky if I’m honest. A self confessed perfectionist, never quite happy, always trying to tweak and improve. It’s been quite the journey for me to truly know myself, and what makes me Hannah, creative director of Elder & Iris. What I can tell you is, I love colour, combining unexpected colours and textures together, I love it when gorgeous linen, candles, stationary, styling, and flowers come together to provide a feast for the senses, I enjoy sculpting designs out of sometimes less know, less loved ingredients, working seasonally and locally as much as possible, and respecting people and the planet as much as I can. I love to work with people whose values align, if you value design, the details, being a little different, and all the while valuing people and planet then I’d love to talk all things florals with you.

Ah almost had you didn’t I?! Sorry didn’t want you to think I’d lost my mind, just trying an algorithmic trick! It’s no surprise to those that follow me that I love British flowers. I love working seasonally and knowing that each arrangement is unique to that time. True luxury if you ask me! (I know you didn’t but hey). One of the criticisms of British flowers I hear from some florists however is that they don’t last. I couldn’t disagree more. Yes there are some delicate stems that don’t travel as well but here’s the thing, if your grower has picked the flowers at the correct time and you look after them properly you’ll be rewarded with a good vase life. These flowers with the exception of the Lilac were cut 11 days ago, and the Lilac 5 days ago. Whilst I wouldn’t be using these flowers in an event at this stage, I wanted to show that they do indeed last. Obviously what flowers you use, and the weather all have a massive impact on this. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences Cut flowers British flowers seasonal florals luxury florals floral designer

I didn’t buy any new Tulips this year, but these were some I had growing in a pot at the side of the house and weren’t meant for cutting! Oops. Nothing is safe in my garden. The call to create was too strong and I wanted to have a play. I love the shape of these and the shadows they cast in the sun. I’ve been tending to my seedlings, and trying to steal moments to get into my garden which is changing day by day with the increasingly lighter, warmer days! At some point I’ll share what I’ve been trying to grow with you too. Just got to not kill what I’ve managed to germinate now 😅.

I shared this arrangement on my stories at the weekend and thought it deserved a spot on the grid. Working my way through admin, seed sowing, and entertaining my Twins! It’s almost the weekend! Spring flowers vase arrangement seasonal flowers

An incredible evening celebrating the start of spring, new life and sunshine. An evening hosted at @chunkbakeryuk , serving our first ever vegetarian menu, which went down a treat. Gorgeous springtime florals emerging from moss by the incredibly talented @elderandiris . Excellent conversations over sumptuous food surrounded by more candles than you can shake a stick at. We had the best of times as always and are so grateful for all of you lovely people who turned up and made it happen! Bring on the next one!

Our first supper club with @chunkbakeryuk was a raging success. It was amazing to celebrate the start of spring with great food and conversation and meet so many new people. As always, absolutely stunning florals from @elderandiris weaving in the spring theme with gorgeous, fresh blooms. We feel like we’re really hitting our stride these days and it’s so lovely to come away from each event feeling so fulfilled and inspired for future supper clubs.

Having a play with some pale blue Muscari and silver wire inspired by @passionflowersue . I do love how petite this bouquet is, but it could be made bigger too if I’d had some longer wire. I’m going to stock up and do some more experimenting! Let me know what you think. Are you there for a micro bouquet, or a wired bouquet? I’ve been wanting to wire some hyacinth since before Christmas, and finally a couple of my bulbs have given me just enough material to make this little buttonhole. I made this before going to Pilates this morning, and really I needed a different wire, and some glue, but I had this wire to hand and 10 minute’s to spare so since it’s just to play I got stuck in. I have to remind myself of progress over perfection. Practice with materials is how I will improve and sometimes you just need to start. I’d have liked my lighter shades to have been ready too, but alas this is what I had to hand, and I quite like the pop against the black. It was much quicker to make than it was to film me wearing it and make the post! I initially I filmed myself in my fleece but decided that this little bout deserved better, so I raided my husband’s wardrobe for his tux jacket et voila! Let me know what you think of the bout (not my dusty modelling 😂🫣), the act of practising and perfectionism! Right now I’m off to be greenhouse xx #wiredflowers #buttonhole #boutenniere #springweddinginspiration #springwedding #hyacinth
