Nomad's Land, acrylic paint on wood, 44 x 59 cm
Welcome to Nomad's Land, where polar bears trek further than ever before, searching for food amidst ecological collapse.
Thought I would jump back into painting and get some colour in my work and it's been an exciting journey so far. I have had lots of ideas manifesting in my mind the past few years, but ones that can only come to life in colour - this poses a problem for an artist who works mostly in black & white. Out of a large stack of failed attempts, this one came through.
I'll be showing it at @roysartfair next weekend.

I created this Monopoly themed artwork as a tribute to the game's original inventor, Lizzie Magie who patented The Landlord's Game in 1904. The original idea was an educational, anti-capitalist board game which sought to highlight the problems with land-grabbing. It had two sets of rules: the first in which everyone was rewarded when wealth was created: the second set aimed to concentrate wealth in the hands of a few and crush opponents.
Three decades later Charles Darrow releases a game called Monopoly, based on the same concept as Magie's second set of rules - to crush opponents, destroy your friends and fall out with family over Christmas. Monopoly was sold to Parker Brothers for royalties and Darrow retired a year later as the first millionaire game designer in history. In contrast, Lizzie Magie made just $500 for her invention after Parker Brothers bought the patent, which pretty much covered the costs of getting it approved in the first place.
The Landlord's Game was shared freely in the public domain, and it belonged to anybody who learnt how to play it, much like chess or draughts.

Been painting a lot of massive text recently. I'm not technically a signwriter but I've been picking up tips online from masters of the craft. Here are 2 signs I did for @folkestoneharbour . It's really satisfying to see it come together.
Anyway, back to the art - I'll have 2 of my finest murals to upload soon and hopefully a few more by the end of Summer.

Big thanks to the @petticoatemporiumfolkestone for letting me throw some colour at their shutters. I'd never painted shutters before and the curved panels riddled with tiny holes meant I had to come at it with multiple layers from different angles to get a nice solid colour. A big piece of wood from my old wardrobe helped me keep the lines true to the centre point, and gave me a threatening aura to keep the Friday night drunks at bay.
Thanks to the public for all the fantastic compliments, weird comments, propositions and stories. I am going back inside for the foreseeable future.
Byee xoxo

Inspired by the submerging of data centres under the sea to cool them, my latest drawing Terror Byte is a shark-shaped AI data centre cooling itself whilst simultaneously boiling the ocean.
