STONED - HOLY HOUSE, designed by Elasticofarm between 2005 and 2011, is a recovery project located within the historic center of Italy. The intervention transforms a complex of existing stone buildings through minimal structural additions and material contrast. The project combines traditional masonry with industrial elements such as welded wire mesh and exposed concrete. The metal mesh operates as both reinforcement and secondary skin, creating a lightweight layer against the mass of the original stone walls. This strategy allows new interventions to remain visually distinct while preserving the existing fabric.
