How I’ve been moving lately! This spring I’m celebrating freedom AND transformation. The freedom to move, the freedom to feel, the freedom to live in a way that’s closer to what’s real. šŸ™Œ The track has become a staple part of my authentic self. Growing up a runner, I thrived in my element until injuries held me back. With a new focus on maintenance AND prevention I’ve been able to recover from things that set me back for years… Now I’m working on some exciting things with the help of @elsewheremvmt that I’m excited to share in greater detail with our community soon 🫶 That being said, foot health has become a major factor on my road to recovery. Finding what combination of therapies works best has improved my overall performance. None of this would have been possible if I wasn’t wearing the proper shoes, intentionally. This is a MUST. monday mvmt ~ the flow to pistol squat 1. The wave sound instrument → arrive, soften, land in the body 2. Supine legs up the wall → foot articulation to wake up the feet + ankles 3. Single leg bridge (tempo) → up 1, down 3 → build posterior chain + control 4. Single leg stretch → precision + dynamic tempo with breath 5. Boat pose → roll back → deep core + spinal control 6. Seated hip flexor step-over → tap leg up and over block **Slide blanket under heel for tactile feedback + foot activation 7. Kneeling lunge → dynamic back knee hover → exhale to find hip extension → continue using blanket for grounding + awareness through the foot 8. Slow knee drive balance → control the transition, own the standing leg 9. Eagle prep flow (side to side) → explore crossing midline + hip stability 10. Standing modified head-to-knee prep → length + balance + compression 11. Pistol squat → block under foot for feedback → or blanket under heel (as Ɖlan demoed) to find access Everything along this journey is the work. Every once in a while you feel like you lead a class that hits just right. Today was that. Power day + Power Chords = Perfection. I’ll admit Nirvana did a lot of the heavy lifting, but my squad held their own. The theme lately has been foot/ankle/knee/hip strength and stability. How do we keep you moving faster for longer? Well, we start from the ground up. Dynamic resistance-based warm-up to start (think: banded rotational and unilateral movement + core activation), movement prep (think strength and stability), tempo-based rotational strength (think balance and coordination) and finally the moment everyone had prepared for: Sprints. The build-up was focused and intentional so the buy in was there…as a group fitness instructor this is your bread and butter. This is how your class shines. They f*cking killed those sprints because mentally they were committed and physically they were primed and ready to perform. šŸ¤ Shoutout to my lovely models: @toriwallz @marioguags @jadajojackson and everyone else for showing up for themselves. Each person is on their own journey in terms of health/wellness + fitness, but they remain unified through a collective purpose. We get stronger together. That’s team work. Come train with me. KB bear plank pull through 3. KB halo + kneeling static hold variations •option 1: block press to ground the back knee + find hip extension •option 2: hover for balance + stability 4. KB around the world → take it to your toes -add a soft sissy squat hinge if you want a little extra spice 5.
