Weeks posts
crazy month so I’m late but a few weeks ago i got to attend @illluminami ‘s beautiful screening of their cinepoem ‘I Love the Land Back’ directed by @anushaysheikh 🧡🌟🌱 this was my first pd work in 2026, thank you Anushay for bringing me on !! I had soooo much fun on this silly set, and like I said in the panel discussion post-screening, it’s actually so rare to be in a film space full of south Asian/femme/queer/ unapologetically desi creatives, so this set genuinely felt like a chill hangout between friends rather than actual work. I’m beyond thrilled I got to share this beautiful experience with you all and feel right at home 🤍🤍🤍 The full cinepoem can be viewed on @illluminami ‘s website, link in her bio 🔗!! :) 💋💋💋💋💋

A lil emotional writing this, but 3 weeks ago, my debut short film ended its festival round (for now… ;) at the lovely @mosaic_misaff ! It’s been such a beautiful and eventful year festival-wise🫂💌🤧🌹still pinching myself, and still punching myself for not taking more film/digicam pics lolll ngl since graduating last year, my creativity has been plagued by imposter syndrome and thoughts about quitting a million times. being an artist means u have to be vulnerable sometimes, so here’s me being vulnerable :’) but despite all the noise in my brain and post-grad crisis, these wins kept me going & constantly remind me that struggle is a mandatory part of the process !!!!! and that my art is worth it - this industry is worth it! thank you friends for being a part of my journey <3 sooo thankful for everything 2025 had in store for me alhamdulliah, and so excited for whatever’s next ! Never imagined other people (especially from outside my culture) would resonate with p4p this much💖💖💖 I got to meet so many cool ppl and new friends and collaborators, can’t wait to make more silly films my entire life, the film community is the BEST community I love u all

trying to become more active in posting my work, but some time ago (long time ago) I got to do production & costume design on Tin Cans, my friend @kessylayssa ‘s film, DP’d by @tejaskhanna . I genuinely love sci-fi, especially if it’s campy! Never made a fake robot body with newspapers and duct tape with wires dangling from its limbs before this !!! or 3D-printed building blocks?? god I love PDing

During my last term at university last year, I directed a very personal short film that is now premiering at @the_offa_ca next week! Grab your tickets now for Saturday, June 21st ✨🐜♥️ Growing up, I often heard people say “ants only eat unwrapped dirty sweets, the covered ones stay pure!” Taking inspiration from this overused phrase, I wanted to make a film that represents the feelings of grief, rage and suffocation that comes with growing up in a patriarchal society. Women are viewed as metaphors, sweets, pretty fruits and flowers that have to be hidden and protected - always an object, never a real person. Taught from an innocent young age that if you don’t do this this and this, any ‘ant attack’ or act of violence is your own fault. P for Patriarchy uses symbolism to visually imagine my own nightmare wedding. As people sing, dance and celebrate the night away, the bride must face her impending doom… This experimental film reveals the tragic reality of how the patriarchy can often silence a woman into submission. and at the end of the day, ants can always get to you anyways, no matter how ‘good’ or “safe” or ‘protected’ you were before, because that is how the patriarchy stays alive! Thank you again to all the collaborators who brought my crazy visions to life!!! dream team fr, anyone else who can make it to Oakville next weekend should DM me for discounted tickets ! This film is dedicated to all the girls out there who GET it 😭😭😭😭 the girlies who bite their tongues when all they want to do is just screammm, I see u and I love u

just one day ago everything was okay. now it’s not. I can tell you, the worst kind of heartbreak is when your home is not safe anymore. when your backyard suddenly becomes a war zone. I am a proud Pakistani, been glued to my phone since yesterday, desperately checking for updates. This is what happens when you let international war crimes go unchecked for too long - other governments grow bold and shameless… it’s so devastating watching from afar. We’re all brown, we come from the same subcontinent, why are we fighting? Praying for peace and stability. Praying for some common sense 🇵🇰💚🇮🇳🫂

I shot and edited this visual poem last year for my alt class. ☀️🐛💌 It’s meant to represent the feeling of nostalgia, especially when seasons are changing. I struggle a lot with letting go ~ admittedly have a lil crisis every time the world shifts and new seasons of change begin. I’ve felt very nostalgic and disoriented since graduating, I miss summer & happier times and the ignorant bliss of not needing to know what to do - just existing was enough. But as my fav character once said, “sometimes taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind”. In 2025, taking leaps without looking back is the goal. Wish me luck🪽ᯓᡣ𐭩 ~ shot on my awesome nikon coolpix that isn’t working anymore hehe ~
