Radio Lagos and Eko FM have emerged top winners at the prestigious Nigeria Broadcasting Awards organized by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), clinching victories in six different categories.
The stations were recognized out of 248 entries submitted, for their excellence in News, programming, professionalism and true dedication to service, reaffirming their place as leaders in Nigeria’s radio broadcasting landscape.
The awards won, spanned across categories including Radio Station of the Year, Best Radio Station - News (English Language), Best Radio Station - News (Indigenous Language) and Best Radio Station - Original Production In Business, Drama and Sports (English Language)
Others are Best Radio Station - Original Production In Business, Drama and Sports (Indigenous Language), Newscaster of the Year, Gbenga Alli-Balogun, and Reporter of the Year, Titi Adeaga
Receiving the awards on behalf of the stations, the General Manager, Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Jide Lawal expressed gratitude to the organizers and dedicated the awards to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sawo-Olu, the hardworking staff and loyal listeners.
With six awards to their credit, Eko FM and Radio Lagos have set a new benchmark for broadcasting excellence, reinforcing their role as trusted voices in Nigerian media.
Earlier in his keynote address, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris commended BON for sustaining the initiative and underscored the importance of broadcasting in national development.
The Minister, who was also honored with a Special Award, pledged that the federal government under President Bola Tinubu would continue to support initiatives that promote excellence, professionalism, and innovation in broadcasting.
The BON Awards, an annual event celebrating excellence in Nigeria’s broadcast industry, brought together radio and television professionals, as well as heads and captains of agencies from across the Country.
