@breezyxsupreme is an alternative icon here in the DMV, so it was an honor to speak with them about their two nominations during the Wammies and what the rising Black art scene means to him and the future of the DMV’s sound!
PG County native and producer @robertchittamsmusic brought the cowboy vibes to the 37th Wammies, looking to ride off into the sunset with two wins on behalf of his collaborations with @breezyxsupreme . We chatted about the way the Wammies honor the musical history of the DMV, and the future sounds of the region too, by nominating Rob and Breezy for their futuristic, alternative sounds reminiscent of Gogo and alternative rock.
In just a few hours, @successthegr8 will bid farewell to their pieces is the Collective: A Black Queer Gallery Show, a collection of art hosted by @_morganeliz that showcases that Black queer artists throughout the DMV area. Stop by the closing reception to get a last look at Success’ breathtaking photos of their trip to Ghana, where piercing visuals connect the diaspora to one another through the lens of Black queerness. Congrats, @successthegr8 !
