Souvenirs from home 16.05-13.06
Opening 16 May from 18:00
Exhibition hours: 12:00-17:00 Thursday -Sunday
Pikk Jalg 3
Souvenirs from Home is an exhibition delighting in the in-betweens of souvenirs
and their relationship to home. These works are made from materials sourced from
my many homes in the past three years. Each is a souvenir of both place and
memory, but also waiting for new additions of meaning from whomever may carry
them to their home.

Moulds for the Wilderness
8.5-23.5.2026 WED-SUN 11:00-17:00
Opening 8.5.2026 18:00
Põhjala Tehas
Entrance from The Hangar Institute
Marati tn 5, Tallinn
Moulds for the Wilderness is a showcase of Odie Lap Chun Chow’s journey into mould making, inspired by ceramic casting production and self-experience in identity seeking. Gypsum, clay, and photography became the materials Odie used to explore and reflect on his struggle to find self-identity, bound to the city he came from. Here, he raises the question of whether moulds give limits or freedom to one, and whether one can create their own “wilderness”, a space without borders.

"Unfolding Gestures", Mariam Mestvirishvili, 8.05-24.05.
Opening event on 8.05 at 18:00, Põhjala tehas, Angaarinstituut.
Exhibition hours: 11:00-16:00 wed-sun
"Unfolding Gestures" brings together practices of ceramic and textile making and draws parallels between the two by focusing on what lies beyond their surface and is revealed through them. The exhibition looks at what happens during the act of making and how the information retained is later unfolded. Making manifests itself here not only as production but as a way of sensing, listening and knowing.

Astrid is a queer craftswoman working with heritage and traditional blacksmithing techniques. She uses contemporary jewellery as an alternative form of political activism, amplifying the genuine lived experiences of transgender women. She aims to bring people together and foster discussion and education in an ever growing divided world.
Astrid’s practice draws inspiration from medieval armour, exploring its protective qualities both physically and emotionally. She collaborates closely with her community to address the specific insecurities and vulnerabilities expressed by individuals experiencing gender dysphoria.

Teresa RA (b. Lisbon, Portugal, 1995) is an artist and designer working primarily with
ceramics. She is currently based in Tallinn, where she is enrolled in the Craft Studies MA at
the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA). Teresa also has a background in Philosophy and has
worked in the fields of sustainable development and climate change.
Her artistic practice often begins with playful, exploratory actions that engage with materials
and the natural environment. From those moments of serendipity, new projects and artworks
emerge. Teresa is currently exploring the potential of porcelain for both design and
installation, while also developing biodegradable materials for site-specific use.

Carmen Kremm (Estonia)
Multidisciplinary artist working with object, installation and photography.
Carmen Kremm’s practice examines how traces are formed through encounters between body and matter. She works across a range of materials, approaching each as an active participant with its own potential and limits. Her interest lies in how temporary states can persist as physical forms.

Laura-Maria Vahimets is an Estonian artist, coming from a background of textile design but working also with materials such as wood, ceramics, video and sound. In recent years, her interest has shifted on emphasising on more-than-human life, working closely with these agents and learning about their idiosyncrasies, in relation to others.
With a curiosity towards their communication methods, ways of existence and symbiotic relationships, she wishes to open new ways of seeing and existing with them.
During the past year in Craft Studies, her focus has landed on local lichens, which has led her to colour fermentation and tests in ceramics.
