My album WEIRDO is out nowww!
I locked myself away for a year and poured absolutely all of me into this record. It’s full of pain and sorrow, but also silliness and laughter. It’s full of huge existential questions, but also a track bout making dinner. It’s full of diary entries over dirty grooves. It’s full of me.
I played everything, wrote it, arranged it, produced it, recorded it, mixed it. (Except for two amazing features from my friends Reggie Watts and Kassa Overall, of course.)
This is an album about my survival and resilience. Growing up as a weirdo, never fitting in. Going through unimaginable grief. I’m still here, and I’m here because I made this album. It saved my life. Hopefully if you give it a listen it can save yours, too.

It has been the busiest year of my life and such an emotional rollercoaster. Putting out a record that saved my life to make, feeling the resonance with the listeners but also dealing with journalists asking invasive and traumatising questions.
This has obviously been the most important work of my life. I’m proud of it and also very excited about the next one, after feeling for a while that I was too exhausted to do that again for a while.

Would Miles Davis like his tunes to be reimagined as techno or drum and bass? I think so, but I also don’t care if he would, and maybe that’s why he haunted Jazz fm from the great beyond and told them to give me this award
