🔥🌲Wildfires have become a recurring risk across many parts of #Portugal and each new fire raises familiar questions about preparedness, information and responsibility.
On 11 February 2026, Climate Frontlines, co-created by the
@ejcfoundation and
@revolvemedia , brings journalists, communicators, experts, civil society and affected communities to #Coimbra for a full-day workshop on how climate emergencies are reported.
The workshop will focus on three interconnected moments of climate communication: how risks are explained and anticipated, how information circulates during an emergency, and how stories are told once the immediate impact has passed.
Across these moments, participants will reflect on narratives, responsibilities and collaboration between media, institutions and communities.
Through roundtables and participatory activities, we’ll explore:
• How to inform in ways that help people anticipate and protect themselves
• How to move beyond the isolated event and explain systems, causes and responsibilities
• How climate reporting can support recovery, accountability and solutions 📌Convento São Francisco, Coimbra 📆11 February / 10:00–17:30 Journalists, communicators, social and environmental organisations, experts, public officials and citizens
The Coimbra workshop is the first in a series, followed by a second Climate Frontlines workshop in Valencia later in February.
