🌍 What happens in Svalbard, doesn’t stay in Svalbard. 🧊
The Arctic territory of Svalbard is one of the world’s fastest-warming regions. Here, the effects of climate change are happening in real time. Melting glaciers, thawing permafrost and new groundwater springs are symptoms of major global shifts underway.
For the locals in the town of Longyearbyen, this isn’t a future threat. It’s a daily reality directly affecting the population through challenges like contaminated tap water. 💧
Scientists are currently probing Svalbard’s dwindling cryosphere for answers, but remember, this is no local story. The changes happening in the Arctic impact us all.
Dive deep into the front lines of the climate crisis in REVOLVE Magazine Issue #59: On Thin Ice.

Just as a Gecko adapts to its shifting environment, our regional resilience strategies must also evolve. 🦎
In our latest piece, we sit down with Andriy Grafov, Project Coordinator at HELCOM (Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission), to discuss the evolving maritime risks in the Black Sea. 🌊
In this interview, he shares essential insights on:
How the war in Ukraine has compounded the environmental threat of legacy underwater munitions in an already under-studied region.
Why transferring and adapting decades of Baltic Sea research and risk assessment is crucial for the Black Sea’s marine future.
The urgent need to bridge the knowledge gap through stronger scientific and regional cooperation.
🌍 Planet REVOLVE is where we connect these stories of regional expertise with a global community committed to action. Subscribe today and become a Gecko, read the full interview via the link in bio.

Episode 3 of the new season of Everything Is Changing is out! 🎙️
AI is often marketed as smart, efficient, and part of a greener future. But is that the full picture?
In this episode of Everything Is Changing, we speak with Ketan Joshi about how Big Tech may be greenwashing AI’s real climate impact, from rising emissions to misleading narratives.
We explore AI’s growing energy demand, the hidden emissions behind data centres, and why honest climate reporting matters now ⚡🌍
As AI expands rapidly, so does the need for transparency.

What if your kitchen held the key to a healthier planet? 🥗
It is #StopFoodWasteDay! 🌍
Currently, 1/3 of all food produced globally is lost or wasted. At REVOLVE, we are passionate about the circular economy because we know that when we reduce waste, we save the precious water, land, and energy used in production.
Small changes lead to a massive shift:

Understanding the cryosphere is essential for securing our environmental future. 🧊
Today and tomorrow, REVOLVE and the CryoSCOPE project are being featured at the Antarctic Futures Symposium 2026 in Luxembourg. We are highlighting the critical importance of polar ecosystems and the science required to protect them.
The symposium also spotlights the Andromeda Earth Observatory, the Foundation’s ambitious new flagship. This planned zero-emission station in East Antarctica will serve as a 22nd-century living laboratory for sustainable technologies and advanced climate research.

On April 8 in Coimbra, Climate Frontline brought together journalists, researchers, public authorities and civil society to reflect on how climate emergencies are communicated across different stages of a crisis.
The discussions focused on wildfire risk, public information, and the role of journalism in supporting preparedness, response and recovery at the territorial level.
The outcomes of this workshop, together with those from Valencia, will contribute to the development of a practical toolkit to strengthen coordination between media, institutions and communities. This will be presented at the project’s final event in June 2026. Stay tuned!

What happens when the roof of the world starts to leak? 🏔️💧⚠️
We often think of climate impacts happening right where we live. But some of the most devastating risks are quietly forming miles above us ☁️.
Rising temperatures are filling high-altitude glacial lakes to the breaking point 🧊. When these natural dams finally give way, the resulting floods wipe out ecosystems, infrastructure, and communities far downstream 🌊🏘️.
To understand a disaster like this, you cannot just look at the floodwater. You have to trace it back to the melting peak 🧗♀️.
You have to look at the entire interconnected system 🌍.
Planet REVOLVE is an editorial experience for navigating the interconnected dimensions of sustainability 🧭. We are stepping away from simple headlines to ask deeper questions about these remote but devastating climate connections 🦎.
You can read our latest interview on these high-altitude threats at the link in our bio 🔗.
Tell us: How do we protect communities from climate risks that originate far beyond their borders? 👇💬
