국립 한글박물관 전시 «글(자)감(각): 쓰기와 도구»의 전시 중 『쓰기의 기술: 속기에 대한 임의적 연대기』의 출판물 속기는 사람의 말을 그대로 빨리 옮겨 적는 행위로, 인간의 쓰기 역사에서 그 자체로 독특한 기술적 진화를 보여준다. 속기를 역사, 직업, 언어의 세 가지 키워드로 구성하여 전문 기술로서의 속기의 시작, 속기사에 대한 사회적 인식, 약어를 이용한 기록 방식을 살핀다. 쓰기라는 행위가 근현대 우리나라에서 어떻게 분화되었는지, 그리고 속기가 기술적으로 어떻게 발전했는지 드러낸다. Publication for “The Art of Writing: An Accidental History of Shorthand”, featured in the exhibition “Senses of Writing: Tools & Perception” at the National Hangeul Museum Shorthand—the act of rapidly transcribing spoken words—represents a distinct form of technological evolution in the history of human writing. This work examines shorthand through three key perspectives: history, profession, and language. It explores the emergence of shorthand as a specialized skill, the social perception of stenographers, and the recording methods that rely on abbreviations. Storyboard & Editing: Minseo Kang @kanmnseo repost from @hangeul_m 제5회 한글실험프로젝트 《글(자)감(각): 쓰기와 도구》 글자는 무엇으로, 어디에 쓰느냐에 따라 재료의 고유한 물성이 흔적을 남긴다. 또한 누가 쓰느냐에 따라 몸과 마음의 움직임이 글씨체라는 고유한 형태로 드러난다. 이 모든 것들이 ‘글자의 질감’을 만든다. 제5회 한글실험프로젝트 <글(자)감(각): 쓰기와 도구>는 ‘쓰기-도구-행위’로 이어지는 과정 속에서 쓰기와 도구의 관계를 다각도로 살펴본다. 이번 전시는 도구를 감각으로 전환하여 신체, 기능, 물성의 경계를 넘나드는 실험적 시도이다. 더 나아가 인공지능(AI)과 같은 새로운 도구가 우리의 쓰기 방식을 어떻게 변화시킬지에 대한 질문을 제시한다. 도구가 가진 물성은 글자의 질감과 조형에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 23팀의 작가와 디자이너는 저마다의 도구로 흔적을 남기고, 쓰기의 의미와 감각을 찾고자했다. 이번 전시는 한글이 지닌 문자적 질감과 언어적, 디자인적 가치를 새롭게 발견하는 일에 집중한다.

Highlighting the incredible work from our Display Type class, Fall 2025! 🔥🔥🔥 Flicflac by Eunji Lee @ej.yi Flicflac is a typeface that blends geometry with the expressive qualities of handwriting. The project began with a curiosity about the visual tension that emerges when rigid forms encounter the character of handwritten brushstrokes. Flicflac is named after a French onomatopoeic term describing a movement of tapping and brushing. The name reflects the typeface’s formal qualities, where moments of precise contact intersect with the soft texture. ✨✨✨ Eunji Lee is a Seoul-based graphic designer and a member of the design studio Major Minority @majorminority_ . Her work focuses on typography across exhibition design, performance identities, and branding.
