🏙️ What if a city could turn everyday habits into collective climate action?
In Porto, citizens are becoming active players in the journey towards climate neutrality. Through the WAKE UP! app —developed under the NetZeroCities programme led by @climate.kic — residents can track how daily choices like transport, energy use or recycling affect the city’s carbon footprint.
The app connects individual actions to Porto’s broader climate goals, turning data into personalised insights, rewards and community participation. From public transport and cycling to water and energy consumption, citizens can see —and improve— their real impact on the city’s path to net zero.
💡With nearly 300 organisations and 2 000+ citizens already engaged in Porto’s Climate Pact, the city is showing how climate neutrality is not only about infrastructure and technology, but also about participation, trust and behavioural change at scale.
As part of the Pilot Cities Programme, Porto is helping test new models that could inspire other cities across Europe.

Through a programme supported by the EIT, @climate.kic is working with entrepreneurship support organisations worldwide to strengthen how climate entrepreneurs are trained, mentored and connected to markets.

⚡Reliable EV charging doesn’t just happen in the cloud —it happens on the ground.
@andcharge , backed by #InnoEnergy, has raised €5 million to tackle one of the biggest challenges in Europe’s electric mobility transition: keeping charging infrastructure working reliably in real-world conditions.
As EV networks scale, issues like broken connectors, blocked bays or access barriers often go undetected by remote systems. &Charge bridges this gap, combining a digital platform with a network of drivers and local partners to identify, prioritise and resolve problems on-site.
