On our recent FIRE+ICE North Tour from Germany to Arvidsjaur in Sweden and back, we asked the Swedish EV community for their best winter charging advice, because they know what really works!
We used these tips throughout the trip and they made winter charging feel a lot calmer and more predictable.

Not every charging stop on a winter road trip is a scenic viewpoint. ❄️ Most of them are simple and practical places along the route. On the FIRE+ICE Tour we have settled into a simple routine at each winter stop.
1️⃣ Find a station we can rely on
2️⃣ Take a few quiet minutes to stretch and reset
3️⃣ Open the &Charge -app, make the challenge and earn charging km - leaving a small digital note for the next driver and the operator.

– Take a photo of the charging station
– Check if the screen is working
– Look for visible damage or obstacles around the charger ⏱ Most challenges take only 1–3 minutes while you’re already plugged in.
And the app always shows you exactly what to do and how long it will take before you accept.
Every challenge is like a digital trail marker: – it helps other EV drivers – it helps operators react faster – and it earns you charging kilometres as a small “badge of honour” for contributing.
