v nice to exercise the aul illustration muscles for the two single artworks, and even more fun to assist @_callaiw on the shoot for the album artwork. such a dream team tbh.
glaisvair came out on friday, would highly recommend a listen. the work bede, @roan.drummer , @ewanjohnstonmusic & @deangarrity have put into this album is admirable. such a gorgeous n emotive set of tracks. beautiful stuff!

finally getting around to posting some of the work i did for freakender 7 back in september!
couldn’t shake the idea of 7 being a lucky number in gambling for this one, and so spent an obscene amount of time trawling ebay looking for vintage slot machines. kinda want one of my own now tbh.

By the time Irish musician Maria Somerville started writing Luster, her landmark label debut for 4AD, she had lived away from her native Connemara for quite some time. Having grown up amongst the wild, mountainous terrain of Galway’s rural west coast, she later relocated to Dublin, where she patiently developed an atmospheric dream pop signature inspired by the landscape of her youth – a spellbinding soundworld of gusting ambient electronics, ethereal guitar strums, sparse percussion, and hushed lyrical vignettes. In 2019, this culminated in All My People, a self-released LP steeped in reverb, nostalgia and a yearning for home that won praise from discerning press and listeners alike.
It was upon returning to Connemara, in a house near where she was raised overlooking one of the country’s largest lakes, Lough Corrib, that work commenced on the songs that would eventually become Luster, an album that illuminates Somerville’s music anew, pushing it forward in both sound and spirit. Where All My People conveyed memories and melancholic longing with misty slowcore balladry, these 12 tracks show us an artist who’s more assured in the path her life has taken, and the person she’s become in the process. As she sings in ‘Trip’ – “I can see more clearly than I could before. I know now what's true for me.”

Interstice are seeking an artist/band to release an EP for. We’re on the hunt for sounds that lean into the unfamiliar, residing in the apertures between rigid boundaries and genres.
Glitches, industrial lullabies, club mutations, fogged out ambience - we want to hear it all.
The artist/band will receive: ✧ A bursary of £960 ✧ Digital and physical release of their EP ✧ Professional mixing and mastering of tracks ✧ Distribution and promotional campaign ✧ Option for collaboration with our team’s graphic designer ✧ EP launch party ✧ Support from our team throughout
For this release, artists must be 18+ and based in or able to travel to Glasgow.
We particularly encourage submissions from people who have faced barriers to entry into the music industry, and those who have not previously released on a label.

hi! i’m back! been a bit burnt out creatively over the past coupla months but been trying to get back into the groove by playing and experimenting for fun again. here’s some bits from the past few days that all came from a piece of crumpled paper i was about to bin. lyrics are from anastasia coope and brian eno and acopia. it doesn’t really mean anything, i just thought it looked neat. enjoy x
