Beyond excited to be heading to the Glad Cafe THIS Thursday with my spectacular band!! We are honoured to have the majestic @ma.r.sutherland supporting us. I, for one, can not wait to see this goddess play 🌞 Myself and Mairi first met a few years ago as part of the @anam__creative music collab where we made a wild album combining about five different genres. This is what makes this such a special gig, not only to be reunited with Mairi, but also to be hosted by anam AND be screening visuals created by anam’s own Michiel Turner Truly not one to be missed! We’re so excited to have the incredible Mairi Sutherland opening for Grace Stewart-Skinner at the Glad next Thursday. We first met both Mairi and Grace on our 2023 music collab, and we’re so buzzing to bring them together for this extra special show ✨💞 Described as having the ‘allure of siren song’, Mairi is a captivating contemporary folk artist from Perth, Scotland, known for her woven compositions, distinctive, intricate guitar style and soulful vocals. Drawing influence from the likes of Laura Marling, Fleet Foxes and Focus, her music blends open tunings and folk-rooted melodies with complexities inspired by the prog rock that captivated her as a child. Her lyrics, often playfully profound, delve whimsically into her self-critical nature. Tickets available via the lib xo

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be hosting the Glasgow gig of Grace Stewart-Skinner’s tour of her debut album, ‘Auchie’s Spikkin’ Auchie’. Capturing Avoch’s unique dialect of Scots and local stories, it is an innovative, moving, and beautiful celebration of linguistic and cultural heritage. Grace’s show effortlessly intertwines field recorded conversations with her new compositions to create an ethnomusicological postcard of her wee home village, Avoch. Grace will be joined on stage by Rose Logan on fiddles, Rhona MacDonald on double bass and Ewa Adamiec on drum kit. This live performance will be accompanied by stunning visuals created by Michiel Turner, and the incredible Mairi Sutherland will be joining as support. We first met both Grace and Mairi as commissioned artists on our 2023 music collab, and it’s been such a joy to see them go from strength to strength and make such an impact on Scotland’s music scene. We’re very excited to bring them together on this bill for a night of innovative and experimental folk and trad music. This will be an intimate seated gig held at the Glad Cafe, and you can get your ticket now via the link in our bio x
