@macmiller & Sia, called “THAT’S LIFE”. So you’re asking, “It took 7+ years… Why so long”❓So rewind to 2015 or so, and I first met 88 online, through a musical opportunity he was offering from his label. Me being me, I hit him up and he responded. We built through our mutual love of Hiphop, and wanting to help upcoming emcees, to work on giving positions at the next level. Unfortunately, the artist I was managing at the time couldn’t see the light, but what transpired was worth the time and investment. I ended up getting some unreleased music of his and more importantly, built a trust and relationship with him. All the proof I need. Now fast forward several years and we were talking on the phone bout music and family, and he gave me the rundown. This single even had merch and the whole release campaign, ready to give to the world from all parties. I even bought the hoodie below. What came next, is a common yet tragic story in music history, of leaking and legal matrix of corporate lawyer bullshit. Ultimately leading to the pause and cancellation of the entire release. Now fast forward and the record finally got put out & 88 credited. That’s the point and that’s the story! I havnt spoken to him in a while but ecstatic it finally paid off.
