🐎 CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND 🐎 Eagle beats Mountain View 5-1 on Friday night to send the Mustangs to the 6A State Championship Game(s) against top seed Owyhee! The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and scored all of their runs in the first inning. A couple of base hits paired with 2 Mountain View errors gave Eagle starter Jacob Ames all the run support he’d need. Ames was dominant on the mound. He went the distance for the Mustangs, allowing only 1 run and striking out 7 in the complete game W. Kristian Fusco and Brayden Lame both finished with 2 RBIs on the night. Eagle eliminates Middleton (10-0 in Game 3) and Mountain View (5-1 Game 5) on Friday to advance to face top seed Owyhee for the State Championship on Saturday afternoon! But because Eagle went through the elimination bracket, they’ll have to beat Owyhee twice on Saturday to be crowned champs. Eagle Soars to Regional Final 👀 6A State Baseball - West Regional #2 Eagle beats Coeur d’Alene 3-1 in a tight regional matchup on Friday night! Eagle takes a game advantage into Saturday’s matchup against the winner of Rocky Mountain/CDA. The Mustangs need ONE win on Saturday to advance to the State Championship Series next week 👀 Once again, Stephen Egan did his thing. He finishes with ANOTHER complete game W, and he opened the scoring with a sac fly in the first. CDA tied it up at 1, but Kristian Fusco scored on a wild pitch from 2nd base to give the Mustangs a 2-1 lead. Owen Brent hit a double in the 6th, emoted on 2nd, was able to advance to 3rd on the throwing error, and emoted again at 3rd. Can’t teach that 🙏🏻 Carter Ditlove drove in the late insurance run to make it 3-1, and Egan went back out and finished this one off. Regional recap: CDA beat Rocky, and Eagle beat CDA. So Rocky/CDA play at 11am today. Loser goes home. Winner gets to play Eagle at 1:30pm. But if they want to advance in the tournament, Rocky/CDA will have to win THREE games on Saturday. 🍿👀
