Eagle beats Mountain View 5-1 on Friday night to send the Mustangs to the 6A State Championship Game(s) against top seed Owyhee!
The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and scored all of their runs in the first inning. A couple of base hits paired with 2 Mountain View errors gave Eagle starter Jacob Ames all the run support he’d need.
Ames was dominant on the mound. He went the distance for the Mustangs, allowing only 1 run and striking out 7 in the complete game W. Kristian Fusco and Brayden Lame both finished with 2 RBIs on the night.
Eagle eliminates Middleton (10-0 in Game 3) and Mountain View (5-1 Game 5) on Friday to advance to face top seed Owyhee for the State Championship on Saturday afternoon! But because Eagle went through the elimination bracket, they’ll have to beat Owyhee twice on Saturday to be crowned champs. Owyhee only needs to win once for the 🏆🍿👀
