We sat down with alt-indie band @krookedkings to talk about their new chapter of technical songwriting and euphonious instrumental arrangements with their fourth studio album, In Another Life. Regarding the album, the band explains that “it feels like a completely different direction for us. And I think for a long time we’ve kind of been saying that we want to expand our sonic palette. I feel like this record has the full spectrum of what I think we’re capable of.” Read the full interview at offtherecordpress.com Photos by: @afterr.hourrs

@itsgirlnoise by @afterr.hourrs 💗⭐️ Read the full review of the show and the amazing evening at @offtherecordpress Girl Noise Festival- For Girls, By Girls, is founded on the pillar of female representation in the music industry. Each bill is full of femme-fronted artists, uplifting the local music scene to exhibit and spotlight bands to all music fans alike. Every detail was well thought out, from the organization booths to promote and share their initiatives, to the fun beaded bracelets and spray-paint style merch reading “I <3 Girl Noise,” and down to the details of small jars of pink candy that sat along the bar.

I interviewed @jakeminch for the cover feature of the latest @offtherecordpress magazine! • Every word matters for Jake Minch. The Connecticut-born singer-songwriter has a way of crafting lyrics and melodies that feel intensely personal—yet somehow universal. In Volume 6 of Off The Record he speaks about his debut album George, a record that captures the grit of growing up and the weight of nostalgia. • Read “Track-by-Track with Jake Minch” in Volume 6 of Off The Record available for purchase at offtherecordpress.com/store. A few weeks ago, I sat down with @bsd.wav to speak about their upcoming album, WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO? Releasing September 5th, BSD spoke about their songwriting process, producing with Neal Avron, and being on Warped Tour and Summer School Tour. • The album was originally inspired after the band watched the Meet Me in The Bathroom doc. The group explains that, “it was just seeing how raw and visceral and DIY the culture was around that scene. I think that is something that we really wanted to hone in on and try and create, not only sonically with this album, but also just culturally bringing people together that way. And I think we’ve always kind of stood out a little bit in the way of being like, we don’t necessarily fit in with the heavy bands, but we also don’t necessarily fit in with the pop bands and we’re so ambiguous to this whole spectrum of rock that we’re in, and I think we wanted to just carve out our own little home inside of that.” • Read the full interview now on @offtherecordpress All photos by @afterr.hourrs
