The places I frequent most tend to be the ones I don’t post about oddly so I wanted to do a special shout to @eggrestaurant !! A restaurant yes, but I solely go for their pastries made by the insanely talented @will.this.make.me.happy !! I’ve tried so many of their pastries and can confidently say you cannot go wrong with any choice.
My picks would be:
1. Apple fritter (pictured)
2. Brown butter cinnamon bun (pictured)
3. Cruller (flavors change)
4. Their CCC was my favorite of all time but unfortunately not on menu rn 😭
5. Weekend cake specials!!!
You can dine in but also just stop in and pick up pastries to go which is what I usually do.

Happy Earth Day and happy Little Egg day! 3 years on Washington Avenue and, if you can believe it, 21 (!!) years since we flipped our first pancakes at Egg on North 5th St. in Williamsburg.
In a city of too-short-lived restaurants, we're incredibly lucky to have been had a place in New Yorkers' mornings for so long, and to have become such a part of our Crown Heights/Prospect Heights neighborhood over the past few years.
Biggest love and thanks to our amazing team who make the space and food so warm and delicious, led by @evanhanczor , @nokaye , @febuch84 , & @will.this.make.me.happy but made beautiful by so many more!
We'll be throwing a party and sharing some new merch later in the spring, so keep an eye out. Hoping for many more years here with y'all, thanks for rising and shining with us!
An old school classic meets a contemporary one - say hi to the black-and-white cruller!
The black-and-white cookie is one of those NYC icons (the original grayscale camera bait bite?) that is sadly often better imagined than experienced.
Turns out swapping the sweet-bland, cakey base for a light, eggy, crispy fabric draped in chocolate and vanilla glazes brings the whole experience into a new, palate-catching light; a stodgy semi-formal suit touched up at the tailor to emerge stylish and fitting just right.

We're true believers, as you may be too, that egg + bread is a quintessentially goated combo, an elegant equation with endless variability. 🍳+ 🍞 = 🐐...it's even elegant in emoji.
For this special, @febuch84 is taking the ends and scraps of our locally-sourced-and-milled @acqbread_co sourdough and buttery @amysbread brioche and mixing & baking them into a strata, a savory bread pudding bound with leeks and mushrooms that is then sliced and griddled in butter to crispy richness.
Served with some broccoli rabe (for health) pickled fennel (for brightness and crunch) and a sunny egg on top (to resolve the equation) it's a springtime plate you'll want to study closely.
Some more nice math - it's just $15, leaving you with some wiggle room for a side of our fennel sausage or a glass of white wine to round it all out. We might need to double-check our numbers, come by for a bite before we do.

February was so crispy we had to bring it back for March! Come by March 11th for fried chicken plus salads, sides, and sweets to fill out your plates and bellies, plus a fun slate of wines from our friend @lrrinaldi at @jennyfrancois .
Come early with the kids, order some 🍗 to go, or swing by a little later for a glass of wine and some pimento cheese at the bar. Thanks to the J&F portfolio tasting being the day before, we'll even have Ato from Orsola Wine in the house pouring some fun stuff.
