Today, I turn 50.
And more than celebration, I feel gratitude.
Gratitude for the journey that has taken many forms; as a father, a husband, an entrepreneur, a builder, and a contributor across sectors including banking, health insurance, and technology. At the center of it all has been a commitment to creating value that lasts beyond one generation.
From financial services to innovation-led platforms like CashToken, Cash-Rewared-as- a- Service, the propagation of the Socially Smart Business Model, The shared prosperity framework, to immortalizing Egba and by extension African Culture through fashion arts and diplomacy.
For the most part of my life, the mission has always been consistent and clear: build systems that work, serve people, and create a a legacy connecting history to the present.
There is still much work to do. And for that, I remain inspired.
I am grateful for every lesson, every collaborator, partner, challenge, and the very privilege of an opportunity to build.
50 years later, one thing is certain, the vision is consistent.
Thank you to my Creator.
Happy birthday to me Aare (Prof Prac) Lai Labode.

The ADE AARE ONA-KAKANFO is a cultural statement shaped by memory, authority, and the enduring language of heritage.
Designed by @lai_labode , Aare of Egbaland, and inspired by Kabiyesi Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, GCFR, the headpiece draws from the ancestral lineage of Yoruba martial tradition and reinterprets it through the visual constitution of the Egba people.
It honours the iron-willed guardians of the past while carrying forward the golden promise of the Egba future.

What we wear, how we present ourselves, and how culture shows up today is never accidental.
It is the result of hours of work, years of mastery, and a deep commitment to preserving identity through expression.
This Workers’ Day, we celebrate the creators, designers, and cultural contributors whose work continues to shape how our heritage is seen and experienced.
Happy Workers’ Day.
