It’s finally here! You can now watch the documentary “Efterklang: The Makedonium Band” worldwide on Vimeo On Demand (link in bio). Our Macedonian adventure is one of the wildest and most unforgettable experiences as a band. We’re grateful for all the incredible people we met in Macedonia, and deeply thankful that director Andreas Johnsen captured the journey so beautifully in the film. We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this incredible band, project and film! We are full of love for all of you! EFTERKLANG: THE MAKEDONIUM BAND: The Danish trio Efterklang heads to North Macedonia with a bold dream: to form a band with strangers and, in just one week, create something truly extraordinary. What begins as a spontaneous idea soon turns into an audacious musical experiment. Without a proper plan but high on curiosity, Efterklang sets out to find local musicians they’ve never met and, together, stage a concert in front of the breathtaking Makedonium monument – a soaring symbol of freedom and resistance. Guided by their longtime Macedonian friend Grga, the journey takes them from the bustling streets of Skopje to remote mountain villages, and all the way to the political top, in search of kindred spirits and new sounds. What unfolds is a warm, chaotic, and deeply human story of creativity and connection. A testament to the unifying power of music. Directed by Andreas Johnsen, this adventurous and heart-opening documentary celebrates courage, curiosity, and the magic that happens when strangers come together to make something beautiful. Watch it now (rental or download) on Vimeo on Demand (link in bio). Still photos by @soerenlynggaard . #efterklang #themakedoniumband #efterklangthemakedoniumband

Releasing Hope - new short film scored by Efterklang! The film premieres today (now!) and it’s been a complete honor and privilege to work on this project for and together with @worldmosquitoprogram and @weareflow . WATCH NOW (link in bio) 👐 The 4:30 minute long film aims to tell a universal story of hope using no words at all, which made composing the score both challenging and extra important. Mosquito-borne diseases kill more than 1 million people and infect up to 700 million each year – 1 in 10 people globally. Dengue is the fastest spreading mosquito-borne disease in the world, infecting 400 million people every year. Studies predict over 8 billion people could be at risk of malaria and dengue by 2080. The World Mosquito Program is pioneering the fight against deadly mosquito-borne diseases with its groundbreaking Wolbachia method – a chemical free, proven safe and natural solution with the potential to save millions of lives worldwide. Wolbachia blocks viruses like dengue, chikungunya and Zika from growing in the bodies of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This means that Wolbachia mosquitoes have a much reduced ability to transmit viruses to people. World Mosquito Program now works in 15 countries, protecting more than 16 million people across Asia, Oceania and the Americas. You can read much more about the film and the important work done by World Mosquito Program on their website.

Excited to tell you that this summer we’ll play three concerts with our friend Zach Condon and his band @beirutband in Berlin and Paris. Peter Broderick will join us on stage, and we’ll perform as a four-piece. All three shows are already sold out. We’ll be playing at Tempodrom in Berlin and Salle Pleyel in Paris, two venues we haven’t played before. Beirut is featured on our song “Getting Reminders” from our ‘Things We Have in Common’ album, and in 2025 we had the pleasure of sharing the stage with them in Brussels and London. Beirut continues their tour across Europe after these shows, and tickets are still available for those dates.

We very excitedly want to tell you that the amazing duo of Saya and Ueno -> Tenniscoats from Tokyo will join us June 14th in Malmö, 🇸🇪 for an outdoor summer concert at @annelundsgarden . Tickets have just gone on sale!
They will also join this year’s edition of Efterklangs Sommertræf (sold out)!
We just LOVE LOVE LOVE @tenniscoats_majikick - Saya and Ueno are some of our most favorite people and musicians! Every encounter is magical! Our latest time together was in 2024 when Efterklang and Tenniscoats toured Japan together and it was one of our best tours ever!!

We’ve been friends since 2005 when Efterklang’s record label Rumraket released the “Human is Music” album by Cacoy (DJ Klock + Tenniscoats) in Europe.
