Happy Thursday Everyone! 🥳 Sorry - long post, but I wanted to explain each picture! 🥰 For the last few weeks, I've been experimenting on different surfaces with these @grabieofficial Dual Tone Acrylic Marker Pens and I'm so impressed with how they applied on various different surfaces. I tested them in my colouring books first, by colouring an entire patterned background in 'Symphony of Cute Animals' by Kanoko Egusa and found the range of colours so helpful when I wanted pastel tones that weren't washed out. Next, I decided to do some tracing and painting on my son's bedroom wall. He's currently a fan of Bluey, so I painted Bluey and Bingo above his crib chasing a balloon 🎈 He also has a little duck comforter (his favourite!) that he's named 'Herman' and I realised the duck looks remarkably similar to the duck in one of his Kipper books (I just had to add the feature of Herman's little blue ribbon). So I traced the little ducky onto the top of the skirting on his wall and added some tiny little muddy footprints to show that Herman's been on an adventure. 🐥 My son loves to point out his 'Herman' before bed, which is just so heartwarming! 🩵 I was so impressed with how I could blend the pens on the wall. It really helped me bring the characters to life with adding shadows and highlights. My last test was on ceramic. I chose an adorable snail pencil pot to paint for my husband and chose colours to give the snails shell a 'Hobbit' door vibe as he's a huge fan of Lord of the Rings. I tried a dot style that took a while but worked really well to make it look like delicate foliage. Then I added lots of the gold metallic pen for a glittery finish! 🐌 Overall, I'm beyond impressed and happy with how these pens performed. I genuinely have so many plans to do little doodles and drawings around my house! Usually my art only covers colouring books but these pens have given me so much inspiration and excitement to create new things! Starry dragon ✨️💜 This was a very quick and fun page! I wanted to test out my new @grabieofficial acrylic marker paint pens, so I tested some colours on the stars in the background and outlining a few things as well as completing the swatch sheet! The main thing I'm definitely impressed with is the vibrancy of the colours. Even the pastel tones, though very delicate, don't get lost on my colouring pages. I've had other sets with pastel tones and they just seem to be so light that you don't really see them properly but I didn't experience it with these. I'm in the process of using them on a couple of different surfaces to see how they perform. One being my son's bedroom wall to draw some of his favourite characters (it's turning out great!), as well as backgrounds for colouring pages and this week I'm going to be painting a ceramic paint pot! Cosy Corner 🔥📚 What a fun experiment this was! I used my beautiful new watercolour set sent to me by @grabieofficial I used two shades of blue and two shades of orange and mapped out where I wanted the night scene and where I wanted the warm glow of the fire. I then used my pencils and shaded the details and this is the result! Magical glowing ducky 🐤 🌊 Thank you so much to my wonderful friend @rebecca_marrion for gifting me this lovely book for my birthday back in January. We decided to complete our first page in the book as a buddy colour. It was such a beautiful illustration to colour and I had so much fun creating a glowing duck! 💛 I adore the way Rebecca has coloured her sweet little ducky along with the vibrant pink blossom trees.
