There’s no other wine estate that does coast to Andes quite so convincingly, and in as short a distance, as
@errazurizwines
One day, a few soil pits, and 80km is all you need to show the incredible diversity of Chile East to West… in Aconcagua you can literally drive from the bracing sea breezes of the Pacific Ocean to staring in awe at the peak of Aconcagua, the jewel of the Andes, within one hour. And Errazuriz has vineyards that span the scope of that range.
With the brilliant
@efaulconer @tamunoz & Wladimir Medel we were treated to a full day exploring the terroirs and icons of Aconcagua.
Starting in the schist soils & with the racy coastal wines of Las Pizzaras, where cool sea fog bathes the vines each morning, we had brilliant vertical of the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Las Pizzaras Chardonnay is always one of my favourites of Chile, but my biggest surprise was the freshness and purity of the 2025 Pinot Noir and Syrah samples… I can’t wait to see those blended & bottled.
Then the gorgeous natural Clos of
@senawinery - influenced by coastal climate and colluvial soils. It was a treat to taste a stunning line up of 2011, 2018 and 2023. They were all glorious but the 18 was in its perfect moment today - floral, vibrant, poised. And the Malbec-dominant Rocas 2023 was so lifted, pure and juicy, the ideal companion for freshly baked pizza 🙌
Finally over to Panquehue, where we tasted thrilling 2025 samples from certain blocks (including an old vine Cab Sauv which is still blowing my mind!) as well as a gorgeous line up of the iconic Don Maximiano. 1990 was a rare joy to behold: leafy and earthy but still with such vibrant red fruit and fresh acidity.
A gorgeous day for our Terruño Profundo exploration with
@geografiadelvino and producers
@santiagodeicas @rodrigoserran64 @miguelbravoc @fernandoklein_wines @santigamma @manaboero @alejandro.valenzuela.98 tasting the Costa to Andes in one full, and incredible day, with wines spanning four decades. Gracias 🙌🍷
