after performing my piece “Healing?” at woman speak i was so overwhelmed with emotion & a big one was pride ! it really hit home how much i had grown, both as a poet and a person, as well as the lengths i’d journeyed & i could not have been prouder of myself.
tomorrow’s Liberated Voice album launch is going to be another monumental moment ! my piece “break, before it breaks you” delves into my experience of struggling with mental health, starting off in a place of deep depression then bringing it forward to the present day where i speak to that girl, passing on all that i know now and giving her grace 🥲
the writing process was big for again helping me recognise my growth but also all the wisdom that’s come from challenges i’ve faced. i’m so proud of who i am today and i hope my words can help heal something in those who listen, just as they have helped heal me ❤️🩹✨
