As well as being my Grandma’s name, Daphne is named after the figure from Greek mythology who transformed herself into a laurel tree to escape being controlled by someone else. The name felt right for a character built around transformation, identity, beauty, and autonomy. ⚫️

Daphne is the first prototype for a new doll and character I’m developing. I’ve been building her world, story, and wardrobe, and she will eventually become a 1/4 scale collectible fashion doll. This is her first appearance. ⚫️
