A year+ and many edits after 🄹 I’m finally ready to share this short documentary I created featuring one of the best to ever DJ and someone I deeply respect and admire @razaqeltoro šŸ™ŒšŸ¾ This first screening is a private and intimate one in Toronto. The experience of watching it with you and talking not just about the film but about the subject it explores is one I’m really looking forward to. I’m a big believer in the idea that we all carry stories within us and this short story with Razaq is one I’m happy to have captured. ā™„ļø Updateā£ļø- Tickets are now available! My short documentary, an EDIRIO @edirio.ch film, created as part of the @bbic_enac @cbcbeingblackincanada program, is premiering at the @torontoblackfilmfest on Friday, February 13, 2026 🄹 I’m deeply grateful to @thefifographer and @tifesoloye for graciously lending their stories to this film. ā€œJapaā€ a slang word with a straightforward meaning, but layered with complex emotions and lived realities. This film explores the loneliness many Nigerian immigrants experience when they ā€œjapaā€ particularly to Toronto and ultimately calls for collective empathy and compassion. Many thanks @fabiennecolasfoundation @fabienne_colas DP: Gofiwa Theo Kgang @black.ink_bw Sound & Assistant Camera: Editor: Gabriel St-Louis @gabestlouis_ Line Producer: True-Sail Production & Motion Pictures Inc. #shortfilmmaking #torontofilmfestival #torontofilmmakers

We’re excited to welcome back our panel session host, @ediris_corner , for an evening centered around building the creative economy, meaningful conversations, and community connection ✨ Filmmaker, content creator, and on-screen talent, @ediris_corner is a Toronto-based Nigerian-Canadian storyteller and founder of EdiriO Creative House — a media production company focused on telling authentic, culturally relevant stories. Her recent documentary film JAPA premiered at the Toronto Black Film Festival and continues its run across Canadian Black film festivals in 2026. Ediri will be guiding us through a powerful evening of networking, insights, and conversation with creatives at the @kwfamous Creative CafĆ© on July 17th. Looking forward to bringing together visionaries, storytellers, and culture shapers all in one room. See you there šŸ¤

Snippets of a much needed break 🄹 Every single day, I am reminded of how important this season of my life is. For so long, I juggled many things, often overwhelming myself. The quiet slower pace has been mending my mind and body. Given that there is a season for everything, I know in time, my wheels will get turning again. Until then, I remain grateful for the now šŸŒ»šŸ¤.

February was bonita! 😌 I rested a lot and woke up every day grateful for life’s basic necessities (despite the freezing temperatures in Toronto). At first, I wrestled with this season of rest, a slower pace, and simply doing less but I eventually gave in. In doing so, I see life so differently. I am often at peace, and my thoughts are separated from the noise in the online world. Approaching the online world with a balanced perspective has been wonderful because at some point, the world felt like a pressure cooker which is wild. I’m currently working on ā€œbeing more present in the NOW,ā€ trying not to live too long in the past or future. My understanding of God keeps expanding too because WOW! Zooming out from what we as humans are so desperately occupied with and observing the world’s other intricacies is mind-blowing. I guess this is a ā€˜life lately’ yap? Haha! I confess I’ve always enjoyed expressing my thoughts through writing. How have you been?? Anyway, February was bonita! #groundedgrowth #lifelately #february2026

With every experience, I learn and I grow. The making and screening of this film was no different and I’m grateful! The goal is take it all and make my next project astronomically better. There’s also still so much to cover with the ā€˜JAPA’ experience and I hope to do so in time. So again, I’m truly grateful! The film will be making its festival run throughout the Black Film Festivals this year - in some cities, it’ll only be available online. #torontocreative #shortdocumentary #storyteller #torontofilmmakers #shortfilmproject

Life can feel like a maze sometimes, can’t it? I’m the kind of person who sits back, observes, and lets thoughts roam in the back of my mind. Watching the cycles in people’s lives and in mine has shown me how important it is to be content with your own life. Nobody has the maze figured out and often endings usually turn out to be beginnings. #introspective #visualstorytelling #cinĆ©ma

Find me lost in a book any day! On Dream Count: I crashed out multiple times while reading @chimamanda_adichie latest book! At first I was mad at everything happening in the book and realized quickly that it wasn’t the escape from everyday reality I wanted as I usually do when I read. In so many ways, I judged the characters until I had a conversation with one of my friends who basically said to me, ā€œEdiri, reality is the point of the book. A lot of life has abrupt endings. The characters are also a kind of mirror because what’s the difference between *this character* and both of us?ā€ I still hate a lot of what happened in this book but I’m glad it’s one of the two books I read this year. #bookwrapup #2025books #bookgrammer

A build offline kinda year and it’s been worth it. The highs, the lows, the stretching in so many areas, I’m grateful for all of it 😌. The result, always a different version of me that I’m proud of and amazed by. ____ šŸ«¶šŸ¾Frame 1 by @nnekaj that I happily screen grabbed because it deserves to be read over and over. šŸ«¶šŸ¾These really adorable puppies 🄹 are from a puppy yoga class by @pupsandposesyoga . I highly recommend! šŸ«¶šŸ¾An impromptu concert with @siffonn_ that we both really enjoyed and needed 😩 šŸ«¶šŸ¾Lastly, the Latisha wig has been a fave this year! I love to change my hairstyle often but the Latisha has had a hold on me. I credit that to its low maintenance! Definitely recommend.

One of my favourite secondary school teachers told me once - ā€œYou’re too much to be put in a boxā€ and honestly he couldn’t have been more spot on because that phrase describes a lot. The challenge of my life has been to focus my energy and I find I’m making progress doing that slowly but surely. 1 & 4 - Wonderful work I did recently with @niacentre 2 - One of many photos for a project I started working on earlier in the year but have since pivoted on. 3 - The one book I’ve read this year. It is certified hilarious and totally worth the read āœ… 5 - So much to do, so little time😫 6 - Whew! Is it just me or is time flying by so quickly??? šŸ‘€ #torontocreatives #multihyphenate #contentcreatorlife #onepercentbetter

held, guided and loved 🄹 I never fail to remember that there’s a lot to be grateful for in this big big world. It’s also been forever since I sat to play with self portraits and that had me reflecting on what this year had been. As always, one thing I can speak to is how much I’ve learned and grown. It’s getting harder to put into words but I’ll keep trying. here’s to a November filled with pleasant surprises ā™„ļø #gratefull
