Day 2 of the 23rd Americas Competitiveness Exchange brought delegates face-to-face with some of Memphis’ most powerful stories of innovation, resilience, and community impact. 🌎
From a behind-the-scenes look at groundbreaking pediatric research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to an immersive tour of the National Civil Rights Museum, where history and the ongoing pursuit of economic mobility converge, today’s sessions reminded us that Memphis has always been a city that moves people and progress forward.
The afternoon took us to Epicenter, where Memphis’ startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem is being built in real time, connecting founders with capital, customers, and the resources to scale high-impact businesses.
Thank you to the leaders and organizations opening their doors and sharing their work with delegates from across the Western Hemisphere. Memphis continues to show what it means to keep powering progress through partnerships.

Today’s kickoff of the 23rd Americas Competitiveness Exchange programming showcased the innovation, infrastructure, and partnerships helping drive momentum across Memphis and Shelby County. 🌎
Delegates from across the Americas explored what makes Memphis a global hub for logistics, technology, entrepreneurship, and economic development. Conversations with local leaders and site visits highlighted the strength of our supply chain network and innovative economic development ecosystem.
Stops throughout the day included FedEx World Headquarters and the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis, where discussions focused on global connectivity, applied research, technology, and the future of innovation in our region.
