“A Sphere That Breathes” streaming now! This is the title track for an album I’ll be releasing imminently. It’s a pandemic project of songs I wrote during that time and wanted to release on my 18th birthday. Almost six years later, I’m eager to let it go. The way I see it, Music is equally a vast collection of captured moments and a timeless stream that lasts forever. And I’m always getting lost in the balance. Sometimes you write songs and you carry them for so long that they don’t feel like you anymore. This song is definitely that, and it reminds me that not only do I constantly reinvent myself, but I get to have the past versions of myself walk alongside me through life. This song is my version of maximalism and a commentary on spiritual bypassing. It represents avoidant coping mechanisms during abuse and loss of yourself in someone else. And a feeling that it all comes back around. I recorded this at @figure8recording at the end of 2023 with my best friends who brought this song to life. I’m sorry it took so long for me to finish. Eden Marsh - vocals, guitars, bass, wurli, synths @andrewnhaug - piano @schefftboyardee - drums Recorded, engineered, produced, and encouraged by @varunjhunjhunwalla Mixed by me Mastered by @char1i.e Picture by @oliviadansphotography Big special thanks to Avery @jazz_engoyer for actually being the first person I played this song with And for always having my back all these years Spotify audio quality is horrible, listen elsewhere for your own enjoyment and the sustainability of music in this world. I hope u feel something from it :) So much more to come so soon Love to all #newmusic #originalmusic #nyc

John Coltrane's Vigil Four years ago, on my 18th birthday, I shared this transcription that I began as the pandemic started in March 2020. I had a huge phase in high school and college where I was learning these Trane and Dolphy solos, playing them in thumb position with the bow. I was obsessed with trying things I thought were impossible, and then attempting to perfect it. It’s been awhile I wanted to put it out there again because this piece of music resides and will continually remain so dear to my heart. True expression of the light and fire of the soul; its infinitely inspiring Also keeps my eyes open as I recognize how the journey has changed in the last four years. It's like six minutes 🤪 Share with your fellow Coltrane nerds. Blessed to see 22 I am so immensely grateful for all of the beautiful people, places, experiences, stories, and lessons that have graced my path of life this year. Thank you and I love you Gonna be releasing an album this summer Stay tuned <3 #coltrane #bass #transcription #love #birthday #upright #arco #earth #music

“Full Moon” out nowwww Hiii! In celebration of another trip around the sun, I released another song off my upcoming debut album :) I wrote this in 2018 as an infant; it was one of the first songs I ever wrote. I never wanted to force the composition I just tried to let it come to me. For years it was a little lead sheet I would play instrumentally. As I carried it with me it became more and more of what it is today. It’s a song about believing in something despite all odds, holding onto yourself when that’s all you’ve got, and dreaming about things that don’t feel possible 16 year old Eden would be ecstatic to hear this. Recorded with no click track, just intuition So many of my incredibly talented friends contributed to the making of this song.. Eden Marsh - guitars, electric and double bass, vocals, synths, percussion Charlie Schefft @schefftboyardee - drums, cymbals, and percussion Andrew Haug @andrewnhaug - piano Chaz Martineau @chazmartineau - saxophone Pranav Shikarpur @snpranav - bansuri Shankara Srikantan @kingkantan - vocals Kaamya Sharma @chammeili - additional vocals Jackson Earles @jackson.earles - violin Minnie Jordan @mjordanmusic - violin Recorded at Artist House @artisthousehq and Figure 8 Recording @figure8recording Drums engineered by @dan_macdonald4 The rest engineered by @varunjhunjhunwalla Produced, mixed, and always believed in by the legend @varunjhunjhunwalla Mastered by @char1i.e Pic by @oliviadansphotography Always a huge special thanks to @jazz_engoyer for playing this with me in its early days. I have crazy footage of us playing this just vocals guitar and drums.. Swipe to hear a half baked piano voice memo of this in 2018 as proof that this song was pre-pandemic.. Enjoy and love u all, gonna finish the rest of these tracks now ❤️🌕 #newmusic #jazz #rock #fusion #nyc

Surprise new song!!!✨✨✨ This is one of my favorite songs of all time - from Maxwell Anderson’s musical, Lost in the Stars. Back when I was playing at Lydia’s on Sundays, Dan Drees brought this tune in, and it absolutely melted my heart. I suggest checking out the lyrics, too📑 An absolute dream to work with Marie Lavis, thank you for bringing the music to life with this incredible artwork🙏🏼 Enjoy on all platforms - and join us for the single release party this Tuesday! Cassette 8pm, On a Limb joins Shai Yuval and co.💜 #newmusic #jazzballad #jazztrio #cassette #lostinthestars

𝓜𝓪𝓻𝓲𝓸 𝓦𝓱𝔂 - 𝓔𝓭𝓮𝓷 𝓡𝓪𝔂 - 𝓢𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝓢𝓸𝓾𝓹 ✦✦ Monday, October 27th • 7pm • 21+ $10 TIX Mario Why (Yñiguez) is a songwright, composer, multi-instrumentalist, director, and creator. In May he released his debut EP, ‘Their Hearts Were Full of Spring’ which is described as “lusciously indie, baroque canyon-pop”. His twangy five piece band featuring some Phoenix’s most colorful players (Benjamin Cortez, Bailey Zick, and Jordan Tompkins) will be playing their new material inspired by artists like Bill Callahan, Wednesday, and Weyes Blood. They’ll release a full length album next spring. Eden Ray (@edenraymarsh ) is a multi-instrumentalist who strives to create for the sake of creating. To invoke unfamiliar and new feelings, and make one ask questions previously unasked. To give a glimpse into the magic of music that if we just keep living, it just might change the world. Eden collaborates with other innovators like Geordie Greep, Chammeili, and On a Limb, as part of a wave of new music. Eden’s music genre bends and pulls from jazz, rock, folk, and classical and mixes them together in a way that makes each component unknown. They plan to release their debut album early 2026. Sink Soup is a high energy jazz/rock band based out of Brooklyn NY. With influences ranging from Radiohead to The Bad Plus, band leader and saxophonist Chaz Martineau (@chazmartineau ) emphasizes creative interaction and melodic direction in his compositions. Chaz is joined by some of Brooklyn’s finest musicians, Eden Ray on bass, Jonas Esser on drums, and Rob Vega on the trumpet. Emcee’d by @michaelmadrid and @marlinjokesbrand

Cadenza from the last show of this last tour :) Bongo season!! It’s always a special feeling when the band drops out, and I’m blessed these guys trust me to take it somewhere. This felt like jumping in a barrel of paint and then flailing my body on a canvas. But guitar Soaked in verb, making noise, speaking from space The sound quality is a little weird but maybe I’ll get the soundboard soon and repost It’s long and props to anyone who actually watches the whole thing but I promise it’s worth it. I actually spared you two minutes on either side of this solo. Wait til the end to hear the screams!!!! I love these guys so much.
